Inspired in part by Boris saying things would be back to normal at Christmas a few weeks ago and now MP's in the Scottish parliament saying people will be devastated if Christmas is not normal

we can only hope things would return slightly for the better around christmas, i mean if we all contribute our share in staying most of the time at home, maintaining our distances, wearing our masks
but nevertheless we should not let this ruin our christmas anyway, if anything if things haven't calmed down, then a slightly different christmas than normal

We will be living under lockdown conditions for the foreseeable future. |

I think there's a chance things are back to normal, but because of political opportunism and fear rather than virus being under control.

Christmas may be different ,but people will still celebrate it, even if we are in lockdown its the price we pay for keeping people safe ,but in all honesty I'm not sure it is, as if we are in a lock down ,the virus will still be around when we come out of it ,so on it goes. We will do Christmas as safely as we can.

Well we could keep things as they are, then BJ announces in either first or second week of December his plan to give everyone a break for Christmas, and the narrative shifts directly to him "saving Christmas". He'll put it all back on the population saying that the virus hasn't gone away so we still another 3 word slogan to help us.

Since the peak of Covid is going to be November - February and 25th december falls smack in the middle of that, it seems highly unlikely.

Tbh my family and I have pretty much agreed to have a normal Christmas either way. The fines won't be THAT much if anyone is petty enough to report us, and work won't be back before the new year, so yeah

Christmas will be what you make of it.
Get the decorations out, a few extra fairy lights and pray for snow, make it as magical as you can, especially for the kids. If we are in lockdown make the most of it, you get to spend more time at home with your family. For people less fortunate it’s up to us all to make an effort to help. Carry on with the job of making sure all the homeless have somewhere to stay...not just for Christmas of course. Make contributions of toys and gifts to the food banks, along with more festive treats. Every little helps...and not only Tesco. |

We don't have nearby family so we've spent at least 50% of Christmases since the kids were born as just the four of us anyway. It won't make a huge difference to us. My sister and my aunt came for dinner last year but usually we just do our own thing.
We do usually go to my in-laws in the gap between Xmas and New Year which definitely won't be happening as they live in Lancashire which is covidy as ****. |

I highly doubt it tbh. If they ease the restrictions before Christmas/ New Year it’s just going to be a disaster so as much as Christmas is gonna suck I personally think it would be best to lift restrictions in January.

No chance.
We’re like this now until at least March imo. Get “virus season” (cold, flu, stomach bugs etc) out of the way. |

About as far from normal as you can get. No parties, family get togethers, pubs,
A wank end to a wank year.
