Why would they knight someone who doesn't pay tax and o ly cares for himself

I'm not a supporter of him getting it.
I think these titles have been massively devalued by who they are given to and then who they aren't.

To be fair he's a record-breaking sportsman, they usually get honoured in some form.

many successful sportsmen are knighted for services to sport, such as kenny dalglish, andy murray, nick faldo, and not forgetting racing driver Jackie Stewart, so it would be more unusual if he were not knighted
