I think it was inevitable that airlines would introduce some creative ways of raising revenue, good luck to them, they have had a torrid time

Quite frankly handbaggage has been a pain in the arse for many years. People are allowed too much now and it does slow boarding down because people take forever to stow their handbaggage away and you cant get past them to get to your seat. Many years ago 5k was the maximum weight for health and safety reasons (in case it fell out of the overhead locker onto someones head)...Your bag can be any weight now so long as the dimensions are correct. You could fill it with bricks so long as you are able to lift it into the overhead space. Imagine if that fell on your head during a bit of turbulance..it could kill you.

Well we pretty much only use it as it makes the flight cheaper as its 30 quid or something for hold luggage. So will just use hold now.

But yeah, there will be more stuff like this, they have lost so much and need to make it up somehow. Will be the same as shops and such, am expecting prices to rise signifcantly.

When I go to Italy I don't usually bring many clothes, because it's very hot in the summer.
And I like to travel light, so a small rucksack is usually enough.

...it might have been something that they’ve thought of doing for a while as more and more people are taking overnight/over head locker bags, rather than hold luggage...so avoiding luggage charges...I would imagine that this time will be used to look at changes that may have been considered already but just not yet implemented...and that’s not necessarily going to be a bad thing...

Ugh that means many will be holding their hand luggage which brings it's own delay as it has to go by your feet for take off. That will be a pain.
