Default Trainspotting, Trainspotters, (Put off or Turn on?)

You are a girl who is single and you get chatted up by a nice looking bloke who is both interesting and good-looking, has a nice personality and a nice smile.

You fall for him immediately and he asks you out and you say, "YES!!"

The first date is a meal & a drink in the pub and all seems so well, and you kiss and end up in bed together, etc...

Two days later, your new boyfriend says:-

"You won't believe this darling, but I have just been told that the fastest current UK domestic services operate at 200km/h (125mph) on the West Coast Main Line (WCML), East Coast Main Line (ECML) and Great Western Main Line. Attempts to increase these speeds to 225km/h (140mph) on both the WCML and ECML have failed for various reasons, principally because speeds over 200km/h require in cab signaling. However, trains capable of 225km/h will be introduced on domestic services between London and Kent along the CTRL in 2009. Can you believe that darling?? I am standing at Ramsgate station & this Train I see before my eyes is making me cry tears of joy I must let you see it..."

Would you dump him???

nope I am not that shallow, but I would ensure he knew it was not something that interested me so I would be unlikely to want to have lengthy discussions about it or stand on a station waiting for that train to arrive!

No, definitely not

I used to have a model train set when I was young & I do like the London Underground, but to stand at a station for hours on end and watch trains, certainly isn't me.

But there is such a fan base and I guess that it must be a turn off to some women.

Unless, you find a woman who likes the same thing? Unlikely, of course....

It happened to a girl I know, who dumped a guy after two days of finding out her new boyfriends passtime.

He wore a t-shirt with a train on...

and pretty obsessed about it too

Not really part of this debate
____________________________

Many trainspotters don't tell their girlfriends what they do, as it is embarassing and a put off to many.

That is obvious, as they tend to be looked upon in a ugly light.
