Why should we all have to lockdown?
Surely the best way is to make the people most at risk of hospitalizations be the ones forced into another lockdown and another round of jabs and mask wearing.

Let the rest of us get on with our lives ffs.

Thing is Parmy, I’m pretty sure with the latest wave you fall into that category… it’s been lots of older working-age adults this time. Which on the plus side suggests that vaccination has been quite successful in stopping deaths amongst the elderly (and is likely why death rates haven’t soared like they did in winter)

Well I've had one dose of the vaccine 8 weeks ago, so will be getting my 2nd at the end of the week, so I should be sooped up to the max for the winter months.

I think I will be fine, like I have been in a face to face job for the duration of the pandemic.

We're still wearing masks at work. So until we do I don't think I need a top up.

Honestly masks need to be considered a bonus extra little piece of protection. They just don't make that big of a difference. We shouldn't stop wearing them because "every little helps" but it's fairly conclusive at this point that masks do not stop spread.

I think it helps. But of course vaccination is important as well.

Cleverly edited, but I would hazard a guess that it would be about being evacuated and if you ended up staying with a load of strangers in a community centre or something so exposed to the virus in a way you would not be in your own home

Disease tends to spread in the wake of natural disasters, that’s been pretty well known for hundreds (if not thousands) of years so the science is pretty solid.

And a vaccination is therefore one of the most important things anyone can do to protect themselves from a natural disaster?
