Jessica Meuse was robbed.

It's okay for him to take drivers off the track, but as soon as he gets a taste of his own medicine he whines the place down along with Red Bull. Imo Verstappen is a sore loser and unsportsmanlike, and he lost to George Russell who's in a Williams Car, that's a poor performance no matter the circumstances imo. In fairness though Bottas or Mercedes (whoever's at fault) shouldn't be having a Car (or using the Car if it's Bottas's fault) that's taking multiple drivers off the track as it is really irresponsible.

You can’t compare Max to George Russell today ! You do realise that Verstappen’s car was beggared after he got broadsided !?! They fixed it up as best as they could in 20 minutes but it was still a mess . They said afterwards that it would be a least a second a lap slower than any other car .. Jackie Stewart just said that Hamilton was reckless at Silverstone .
He said drivers take more chances there as the track is Uber safe and the punishments are too lenient. He said that Max probably wouldn’t have survived that crash 30 years ago .. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

dutch government has still given the green light for the Zandvoort GP on September 5th
2/3 of audience capacity will be filled, other events within multiple events cannot get green light, but this one is all outdoors and without space to spend the night at unlike festivals very likely two negative pcr tests or proof of double vaccination, or recently recovered of covid at entry

Davina Michelle will perform the dutch national anthem at Zandvoort race on September 5th
but will only perform there if the acts will get paid https://netherlandsnewslive.com/davi...y-show/226526/ Davina Michelle will sing the national anthem at the opening of the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday 5 September, on condition that other artists performing that weekend will be paid. Her spokesperson said today. The Dutch Grand Prix is under fire because Prince Bernhard, co-owner of the circuit, had asked artists to perform for free tickets. Chef’special singer Joshua Nolet brought the matter up in a social media video. ,,Ouch. Just ouch. Come on, what the ****,” he ended the video when clearly irritated. Nolet’s outburst of anger was mainly a sum, the Haarlem singer said 24 hours later. “About how we as a society want to deal with our industry and everyone who works in that industry. And it was mainly aimed at political The Hague, where people have remained incredibly quiet after our actions last Saturday.” In addition to Chef’special, the Dutch Grand Prix had approached more artists to perform for free during Formula 1. It is not about big performances, but about intermission acts on the track to hold the attention of the public between the race numbers. . “We would like to offer our cardholders some form of entertainment,” said a spokesperson for the Dutch Grand Prix. There are artists who have said yes to this, although the Dutch Grand Prix does not want to say who it is about. A spokesperson for Davina Michelle herself announced that the singer will not be paid for her performance, as she has agreed with the Dutch Grand Prix. Many music organizations said in a response to the news that it sends a very wrong signal if artists perform for free, especially at an event with a budget like Formula 1 in Zandvoort. The Dutch Grand Prix ‘understands that the request to act against expenses has gone wrong. We thought we had approached people who are racing fans.” Davina Michelle did get paid for the release of the official song of the Grand Prix: beat me. The single was released last year, but then the Formula 1 race was canceled due to the corona measures.

What a farce.
They should've just rescheduled the race, like Football does for it's matches when bad weather kicks in. Imo it's a bad advertisement for the Sport that someone "won" the race by not actually racing, but because the FIA are cheap bastards that don't want to pay extra costs to reschedule the race.

But the race has also attracted plenty of criticism. Environmental campaigners argue it flies in the face of the Netherlands’ obligations to reduce pollution, while neighbouring communities are fed up with the engine noise from the circuit and traffic congestion. The events industry is incensed that Zandvoort is able to put on a three-day extravaganza while much smaller music festivals have been cancelled under coronavirus restrictions. And the sight of hordes of fans at the circuit – despite the government classifying the Grand Prix as a ‘placed event’ where spectators are supposed to stay in their seats – has angered critics of the Dutch pandemic response. The first free practice session on Friday was accompanied by a protest by 20 farmers who are pressing supermarket chain Jumbo, one of the race’s main sponsors, to pay fairer prices. Court battles More concerted opposition has come from environmental groups such as Mobilisation for the Environment, (MOB) who claimed it would generate excessive levels of pollution. The group failed this week to obtain an injunction to stop the race, but has vowed to continue its legal challenge to the race, which is on the calendar until 2023. Coronavirus rules The most vocal criticism has come from events organisers, who had to cancel almost the entire programme of summer music festivals after the government imposed strict limits of 750 tickets and no overnight camping. ‘This casts a very unsettling light on the 18 months of lockdown,’ Hans Paul Nieskens, one of the organisers of ParkCity Live in Heerlen, told 1Limburg. ‘It’s incredible that this can go ahead. It gives me a sick feeling in my stomach.’ The circuit’s co-owner Prince Bernhard, a cousin of King Willem-Alexander, said this week that ‘only a small group of people’ were against the race taking place. ‘I think a lot of people are in favour of it and there are some people who, with good reason, are against it,’ he said. ‘Of course they’ll get a platform.’ https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2021/0...s-to-the-fold/ |

Go stand on the motorway and you can watch cars driving past. Who's idea was it to call it a sport.
Amazing how people find cars driving round a road more entertaining than an exciting, end to end game of tough rugby league. |
