Default The UK will provide visas for up to 70% of Hong Kong residents

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-55357495

An excellent move, although only roughly 300,000 are expected to take up the offer in the next five years.

We gave back Hong Kong to China, and we allowed China to go against the deal in place so we owe it to the people of Hong Kong to offer them an escape from tyranny. It's only right we open the gates to people we left to suffer.

You'll get all sorts of gammon whining about immigrants, being all like 'uhuhuhuh, they only want to come here because of the benefits uhuhuhuhuh!' But we can only really benefit from Hong Kong immigration really, it's a highly educated place with a lot of talented people who are making advances in various fields. We'd be lucky to have them.

Awww every Hong Konger is welcome.
Its a shame brutal China have ruined such a prosperous city.
Its actually quite sad that the Hong Kong heyday atmosphere is now lost forever and could never be replicated.

Anyone living in a commonwealth nation should also have visa free access to live and work in the UK.

These are our true brothers and sisters.

Britain can now be part of the world again.

Well, well well, this is a special occasion indeed, for once, I agree with you.

...as changed as their home country may be and as awful as those changes may be, many will still stay, I think...I difficult thing also to leave so much that you’ve known...but so good that there is a choice and chance for a brighter life for those who choose to take it......
