Because it’s banal tit-for-tat politics... it has literally nothing to do with the independence debate. As I’ve said multiple times recently, I’m against the rush for independence currently as I think the Brexit situation is already too volatile. I’m pro-devomax which isn’t even an SNP stance. But it being used to get London-centric Tory unionists a foothold would be a disaster for Scotland.

More QSalmond from the Daily Mail. I had once hoped that 2021 would shake off the Trump-era media and politics... apparently, not yet. That article refers to Scotland as a "banana republic" and "one-party state" ... I can't decide if it's genuine stupidity or just being disingenuous? Do they know what a one-party state is? Hint: It's not a state where the other parties just legitimately fail miserably to secure votes because no one wants to vote for them .

The idea that there's some sort of elaborate cover-up to frame a 100% innocent Salmond for political gain is just more conspiracy theory junk, straight out of the same playbook as the US "ELeCtiOn FrAuD". I find it somewhat amusing that English politics/press is now all aboard the "poor Salmond" train... it's not long since they were asking if Salmond was "a de-facto Russian agent" . And that at least had legs as a theory, given that it's only a few years since he was fannying around on Kremlin-sponsored television.

I don't this its that the press are pro Salmond, I think its the quashing of some of his statement that is of concern

Anyhoo wee Nic has been floating along in a bubble, able to take credit when things go right and blaming Westminster when things go wrong, so its funny to see her squirming under the spotlight for a change

Ironic two given how tight these two used to be

I agree.

Plus I'd forgot about the issue you mention in your last paragraph.

Strong points there.

Default SNP faces fresh claims high-ranking party figures conspired against Alex Salmond

Quote:
I hold no candle for the
@theSNP
and the Salmond-Sturgeon story is clearly important and newsworthy. But my God compare and contrast the right wing media and
@BBCNews
coverage with the comparative lack thereof of
@SuellaBraverman
re Cummings,
@pritipatel breach min code ...
.. the entire govt prepared to break law Re N Ireland/Brexit and
@MattHancock
found to have broken law but said it was ok cos he was in a hurry. I know
@afneil
has a dog in this fight but if there is a ‘Banana Republic’ right now it stems from London
Pretty much

What he's saying is true though; Daily Mail et al are all over the discrepancies as though they're anything more than we see on a monthly basis from Westminster Tories... But no one gives a **** when it's Boris & Pals. They're pretending to care now because they have another agenda; unionism.

Unless you believe all of the "Salmond is totally innocent and was framed" QAnon-style conspiracy crap.
