+100

isolation hotel is easy to make, even going as far as not having your cast and crew to go to supermarket but get the groceries delivered in a more safe and cautious way at one specific location in basement of hotel or something like that

as for VT's, a lot you can do in own room if you need a ''fun VT'' with usage of green screens and ofc more time to focus on training instead

but then again i knew DOI would be a too risky show, hence Germany not having gone through with it amid a pandemic, same for Netherlands

He obviously didn’t protect himself well enough, he had a duty to the show to follow the guidelines above and beyond the letter especially after Rufus had to withdraw

We don't know how he got it yet.
It could have been another's error.

We really don't know who we may be talking to or come across who has it, indeed neither do many people who have it know they've got it.

I'd guess in any show like this, needing to mix with others, make up people, dress designing, then other training.

That must add for all of them, to the risks of even accidentally and maybe even by no fault of their own, contracting this virus.
Unless we're told exactly how those who got it did, then I'll wait before condemning.

I'd be happy for Hamish to win. He so deserves it!

Erm, there is no 100% proof way to avoid covid unless you never leave the house... ever.

All the protocols in place is no guarantee of anything when you have people mixing in a TV studio. There is always risk.

Framing this to somehow be his own reckless fault is so naive when we have absolutely no knowledge of how he even picked the virus up.

Lol at people thinking Joe broke the rules without any proof other than he has corona. By that logic all those who had/has corona and died from also broke rules. I like to point out... the mask only protects you if others are wearing a mask, you can still get it wearing a mask and some aren’t.

To me this the fault of production by allowing people to be in public and not putting them in a house/hotel together and make them quarantine until shows over.

Haven't they both tested positive anyway? Why is joe getting the blame when its very possible it wasn't him who broke the rules?

erm you know the rules of two metres apart, not mixing, good hygiene, you would be very unlucky to catch covid if you observe all of those adidiously

you wont catch covid by looking at someone from a distance lol

No because many got it in hospital, or care homes where they had no control over their environment

and unfortunately some did catch it due to negligence of others or themselves

Right.... but he's taking part in a television show that requires him to be in close contact with other people.... indoors. In a studio that has countless people entering and exiting every single day.

There is no 100% proof way of avoiding the virus.

He's on Dancing on Ice, not looking at someone from a distance.

Yeah she has and I want to place a bet but since they are dropping like flies I’ve been put off doing it

No one was defending him until you came in with your pitchfork ridiculously hoping he not be paid for work he's done and insinuating he must have brought the virus on himself.

so there must be numerous others on the set who tested positive as well then?

Cherie, have you ever thought he could have got it from someone he was living with?

Yes I have but given he is in a show he should be isolating from his family members for the duration, not easy I grant you but it can be done, you see NHS/Care Home staff doing it to protect their families, I agree with you they should have all been put up in a hotel to keep them in a bubble though

exactly how they do it for lets dance in Germany, the couples only see each other every week they are in, and whenever they get near the final every eliminated couple returns to isolation bubble so they can have one ''farewell socially distanced performance'' to end the journeys etc

but everything is really strict, so outside contacts are more done virtually by couples, and hosts, judges, production crew (some media too photographers in the bubble as well so important promo shots can be done also from safety of the isolation hotel

but upon entering this 'bubble' 2 negative tests required, and temperature check

last year we had one withdrawal John Kelly, but that wasn't covid related but more bc of a family member who was ill, and you know how close the kelly family are basically so he withdrew and conveniently our Loiza (who had been eliminated before was able to return to competition after 2 negative covid tests again)

i do believe ITV are strict with regulations but could be a lot stricter nevertheless, but this comes down to Joe & Vanessa not listening to those rules

We don't really know his situation tbh and if he did get it from whoever he's living with doesn't mean he actually broke any rules.
