Because they’re in their own home and you are entering their property

Maybe you shouldn’t be working then if you don’t need to be there, you’re obviously not an essential worker then

The point is they're in their own homes and have kept safe, so they are more than likely negative, if they were positive then no one other than medics should be going in.
However, someone from outside the home, should wear masks and even some other PPE depending on what they're doing there. Which in a lockdown period should only be for emergency or health needs anyhow Although, I do have to add personally, if anyone needed for any emergency to be in my home for any reason. Then myself, my Mum and Cousin who live there would at least wear masks while someone else was there working. Last edited by joeysteele; 25-02-2021 at 10:19 PM. |

We had a heating engineer in two days in a row for a couple of hours last month (he fixed a pump the first time, the new one broke over night, turns out it was a stuck valve that broke both... This is needless information...)
Anyway, he didn't wear a mask and I didn't think to either, in fact I thought nothing of it until about a week later when I realised we probably both should have had masks on. I think you just sort of forget its Covid-times when you're in your own home ![]() |

In our surgery the receptionist deals with you through an open window with a big sign on the window, no mask no service, the patients are standing outside with masks on but she is maskless what’s that all about So Parm, no mask...no service could be your motto going forward, and they should have the windows open

My Dad had to have his boiler looked at and when the engineer came, he put on a new mask, shoe covers and gloves in the porch before he came in, he asked my Dad to stay in another room and opened the window for more ventilation. Dad asked if he wanted him to wear a mask but he said as long as they maintained distance Dad didn't need to.

...I have to say that if someone were coming into my home, I would hope for them to be wearing a mask and I would wear one as well...they’re always taking a risk in going into anyone’s home ...and a risk for a stranger...

what would be the point in them wearing a mask. If they had covid, the air and all the surfaces would already be saturated in covid

In France, the guidelines communicated to us are to open windows and wear a mask, when someone is coming in.
We had a technician guy coming for our wifi connection and he was wearing a mask and we opened our windows and wore masks too. He also washed his hands before touching anything.

When workmen come here, they tend to ask if they can take their masks off. Meanwhile, we are told that we should wear one to protect them. I mean, its better for us if they do take them off and let us also...but I do think that they should have the option of either..people in the house wearing one, or the people in the house not being in the room they are working in.
