Default Peston seems not to like Piers Morgan being criticised by Steve Coogan

it was a bit odd to come on to talk about the Press and the Monarchy and then just keep banging on about Piers Morgan

He rightly brought phone hacking up in relation to the press/tabloids, Peston shouted over him not allowing him to make his point. He made the remainder of the clip about Piers Morgan by not allowing him to continue.

Hardly "banging on".

"Former colleague of mine" "Piers has denied"

Because he (correctly) has identified that the problem is NOT Harry and Meghan, and is NOT the Royal Family themselves, but is in fact the UK press and the Royal Institution that engages in an endless dance with that press.

Piers Morgan is emblematic of everything that's wrong with tabloid culture.

Piers Morgan is not the press though, just muddying the waters and he totally mucked up the good point he was trying to make by making it look like a personal vendetta

Not really. It had full validity when it came to Morgan's lies and the phone hacking scandal. Peston wouldn't allow him to get that point out.
