Default USA: Amazon defeats historic Alabama union effort

Jeff had to make sure the Union was kept out
or all his other Amazon Distributors
what also get a Union.

[Amazon has defeated activists hoping
to establish the company's first
unionised warehouse in the US.
Workers at the Bessemer, Alabama
warehouse voted 1,798 to 738 against the effort,
labour officials said.
That represented a majority of votes cast
in the contest, which was seen as a key test
for Amazon after global criticism
of its treatment of workers during the pandemic.
The union said it would challenge the results.]

God forbid a big bastard company should be held accountable for its actions.

He's a dragon hoarding all the gold while pissing on people and telling them it's wine. All of his 'charitable' contributions are basically the equivalent of me giving a homeless person a pound for a drink. He has the money to fix the world's problems and still live an unmatched life of luxury, yet he denies his workers basic rights.

He is scum.

true, and that goes for all the super rich as well

i mean, imagine being more than able to end poverty in the world, but putting your life of luxury needs first, that is selfish

Whataboutism isn't going to change the fact that Bezos could pay for his workers to have rights and entitlements that they do not have currently without any real personal sacrifice on his behalf, but he chooses not to, because he'd rather swim in his vast piles of money while others suffer.

He is scum, lowest of the low.

The only way to teach fatcats like that a lesson is to kick them in the wallets - #BuyLocal or from other online sources, don't sign up to the premium services, buy eBooks from elsewhere ...

Admittedly even if everyone from this site abandoned Amazon it wouldn't even make a blip on his radar, but I don't want to be part of the reason he can corner the market while paying his staff poverty wages.
