RAVER Tracey Barnard has been having one long bad hair day in the BB house — but she was once a trainee CRIMPER.

Tracey, 37, now famous for her pink and white barnet, was a bleached blonde when she was a budding hairstylist in the 1980s — as our exclusive picture shows.

And the hairdresser responsible for her latest style says she always wants “something quite way out”.

Alison Muir, 51, who used to employ Tracey at her salon in Soham, Cambs, said: “In the last three years her hair has gone from black and red to blonde and pink.”

Alison is now preparing for a flood of BB fans who want to copy Tracey’s pink and white look. “We are expecting people to start coming in for copycat haircuts,” she said.

Tracey tried the blonde look when she worked as a junior at the Philip Helliar salon in Cambridge after leaving college in 1986 — but things didn’t go smoothly.

One member of staff there said: “She couldn’t handle her booze and passed out at the staff do.” Tracey left the salon after 18 months and later became a cleaner.

But Alison added: “People should not judge Tracey on her appearance — they should get to know the woman underneath the wacky clothes and coloured hair.”
