older article of last month King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will undertake their first state visit since the global health crisis began over a year ago, with a state visit to Germany confirmed for early July. The Dutch Royal House announced this news on Tuesday, noting that the royals will visit Germany from 5 to 7 July. Their invitation comes from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and is the latest in a series of visits to Germany since the King’s accession in 2013. The royals will be accompanied by the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Dutch Minister of Defence. Further appearances from the Dutch Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport, and the Secretaries of Economic Affairs and Climate will occur for individual engagements on the itinerary. On the first day of their state visit, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will attend a series of meetings with authorities and also carry out ceremonial elements, concluding with a state banquet hosted by President Steinmeier. The second day will see the royals “explore the diversity of the German-Dutch relationship in the field of politics, economics, science and culture during various visits,” says the Royal House, which includes a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and meetings with the prime ministers of the German federal states, where the King will give a speech. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will host a concert by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra as a return event on the second evening. Their third and final day in Germany will see the royals travel to Berlin with a focus on “science, voluntary work, social cohesion and the position of Berlin in the world.” The Royal House noted that it would not announce locations for each engagement in order to minimise social gatherings, as all local health guidelines will be enforced during the state visit. The state visit was due to occur last year but was cancelled as the global health crisis grew. Royal Central will provide you full coverage of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima’s state visit next month.
during the meeting with Merkel, they will also say farewell to her as this will be the last meeting of them to germany with her as chancellor first time in 16 months is a real long time, the german public really have missed them, since they love all of the dutch royal family a lot this meeting is mainly important because Germany is the closest ally of the Netherlands, good friendships, but also important due to lots of incoming and outgoing trade every day
