update on Limburg: most places the water levels are going down towards normal again

and the crisis situation seems to be coming to an end


death count at 160, and many of the reported missing had been located/found

I have friends and family in Germany, near Wesel, a little north of the bad floods. Thank God they were all unaffected apart from one farm suffering flooded fields. Heart breaking for people who've lost loved ones and/or their home.

…it’s horrendous and surreal as we’re in the grips of a heat wave, that there would be such devastation so not that far away….the rebuild will be a very costly thing and hopefully will receive much aid and that has to be the focus now…poor, poor people…

showing the destruction, but also the aftermath and now rebuilding/restoring everything


poor 86 yr old woman lost her daughter, but also many photo albums and diaries lost in the flood she even cannot enter her home the normal way anymore, now she has to climb a hill and then climb down onto her terrace via a stool, which is difficult for someone her age
