what? how are those two even comparable, have they started selling alcohol in Primark and since when did Primark create an atmosphere where you are shouting at your companions in order to be heard and releasing inhibitions

That's not true. Around 150k of us have died from the virus alone. We're not a million miles away from achieving vaccinated herd immunity, so the decision to just fcuk it now, is basically an experiment of evolution using the most vulnerable as guinea pigs, and it's the "I'll be alright so screw everyone else" posse that is displaying true selfishness.

The decision to not help those businesses and the citizens financially, is a choice, but the fact that we're opening everything up whilst already suffering the worst numbers in the world, is true myopic selfishness.

All the people at most risk have been vaccinated and most people under 30 have had at least one vaccination.

Let's just also clear up that vaccination are not there to stop Covid it is there to stop hospitalisation and server threats from Covid

We still have no idea about long covid, though. Chris Witty himself, said that the new rules could make hospital admission numbers "scary," as they are currently doubling every 3 weeks before today.

We have no idea how the virus will mutate and reproduce, but we're giving it the best possible opportunity to get much worse.

Really it's just a long-delayed version of what Boris wanted to do back in Spring 2020. Hardly a shock.

I don't disagree, but having it suggested that we want to ruin peoples financial situations and mental health because we disagree with Boris and Sajid, and agree with the scientists, is pretty weird.

I also agree that the financial reasonings aren't particularly sound - the government could be helping out business owners to a much larger extent than they are. Mental health is a bit of a trickier question... the situation is a mess but I don't know that there is a "right" answer there. None of the options are good ones.

Absolutely, but mental health can be a long and complicated road back to a feeling of normality, not solved because they can throw some shapes to dance hits of the 90's, sardined into a human petri dish.

I'd imagine the MH side of covid has been eased as restrictions have been lifted, but can just as quickly be set backwards if the death numbers start rising, and we start going back into full lockdowns.

Well yes and the promises of "never going back" being inevitably snatched away will make things worse rather than better. They have to give people hope, but it has to be realistic expectations that aren't going to be offered then snatched back. A surefire way of making people feel hopeless.

Christmas for example was a catastrophe; people making plans, getting excited, then having to cancel them at the last minute.

….I think it’s also pretty wrong because many of those who have genuine concerns now based on medical concerns, have worked and put themselves at risk thorough this, they absolutely know the mental strain…it can’t really be seen anything other than an experimental type thing, if we don’t do it now then when will we…?…surely when the medical minds are more confident than they are now…?…
