It was just so bare-faced, you'd think he'd pretend to not be racist by using veiled-but-still-racist language like "Uncle Tom". There's no excuse for the GOP to not call him out in any way.

I still think you have to really want to say the word as a white person. Like this thread when I left the N-word to the forum censors, as opposed to the Enid Blyton thread when it was typed out using N1g...
There is no good explanation for a white person to use that word. Ever.

the guy didn't frame it as parroting what the mayor was supposed to have said, which would typically be how that would be done if it were contentious. His body language also didnt indicate he was parroting. So I call bollox

Even if he was repeating it, it doesn't excuse the language. Bryant should not have used that word. In any context, ever. Point blank.

Jesus Christ this guy is dumb.
Like Oliver W has said, he could've been so much more sneaky with his racism.  I wish more racists in the public eye were this blatant though as it stops people from supporting them.
