Tottenham striker Harry Kane says he "would never and have never refused to train" and will return to the club on Saturday as planned.

Kane, who has been on an extended holiday after Euro 2020, did not turn up as scheduled on Monday for his coronavirus tests.

Manchester City are keen to sign the England captain.

The 28-year-old believes he has a gentleman's agreement with chairman Daniel Levy to leave Spurs this summer.

He says that he has been "hurt" by comments this week that questioned his professionalism.

"While I won't go into the specifics of the situation, I want to clarify that I would never, and have never, refused to train. I will be returning to the club tomorrow as planned," he wrote on Twitter.

"I wouldn't do anything to jeopardise the relationship I have with the fans who have given me such unwavering support during my time with the club. This has always been the case as it is today."

Looks like there’s two stories entwined here.

The one you linked ( which could have been pure press speculation to be honest given we’re told not to believe everything we read in the papers ) and the one I was referring to ... the ‘official’ Harry Kane statement released yesterday .

Nope it was confirmed by Kane himself he would be back today on the 4th..google it..Sky as usual are trying to make a drama where there is none much like their covid reporting

Tottenham are trying to seal a deal for Inter Milan's Ł60m-rated striker Lautaro Martinez.

Martinez, 23, has scored 49 goals in 132 games for Inter since joining from Argentine side Racing Club in 2018 and helped them to win Serie A last season.

He was a key figure in Argentina's Copa America triumph this summer.
