Default M25, England : ‘Insulate Britain’ protesters spark massive delays

https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/climate-c...ction-off-m25/

Arrest these Punks
Holding up the M25 Motorway

[Insulate Britain took to the M25 in a
stand against climate change.
As of 9.15 this morning, the group had
targeted motorists at:
M25 J6, J20, J3, J31 and at Junction 14 at Heathrow.

Around 20 protesters sat in the middle
of the road in Kings Langley,
causing tail backs up to the motorway,
with some violence having already taken place.

They blocked the roundabout at junction 20
of the busy motorway, leading to outrage
from drivers trying to use the road.]

There's so much to protest about right now and these people are protesting about something the government and media is on side with and pushes and promotes themselves. So who are they protesting against?

They should put their energy into joining the people who are protesting their freedoms that have been taken away from them over the past two years.

Don't know if they've noticed but we've been locked in our homes, had our business's shut down, been stopped from travelling and going on holiday. Kids have been stopped from going to school, people have been arrested for sitting in the park, people have been threatened with their jobs being lost if they don't take their medical treatment. That's something to protest against.

Really Alfie? You don't see all that as keeping us safe from a deadly pandemic?

I don't see a deadly pandemic, I hear of one, I don't see it.

If there was a deadly pandemic, I'd expect people dropping dead in the streets and trucks going around to pick up the dead bodies. The homeless for one I would assume would be very vulnerable.

I've heard of one person I know who is said to have died because of Covid, but he was a very big lad, very overweight, still sad because I grew up with him. My best mate is the only other person I know who claims they had Covid, he said it was horrendous, and he couldn't eat for 4 days, but he didn't go to hospital or even to see his doctor, he just rode it out and it passed. Sounds similar to having the flu.

I don't deny there's a virus, that could well be true, I just 'haven't noticed it being a deadly Pandemic. Not enough to give up our freedoms for.

Once you give up your freedoms, they ain't easy to get back.

Let's see how long that childish 'I'm not gonna change a thing because other countries won't!' attitude lasts when we're in the thick of irreversible damage and change. Such a vile attitude, you could use it to argue against anything right, because there will always be someone doing wrong.

I find this one tough to wrestle out in my head in all honesty. I do "believe in the virus" and how serious it is, there is abundant evidence that it's much more of a problem than flu, etc. but believe it or not, I do largely agree with the bit in bold.

I could also be convinced, not that the whole thing is a scam or lie, BUT that there are people in various positions of power who will happily use an emergency situation for their own purposes and to pursue an agenda ... and with Covid, it can occasionally feel like the world is being "litmus tested" to see what will and won't be accepted.

Nah, I'd be happy for them to hold London hostage until our joke of a government was able to pull the finger out and door more than make mealy-mouthed "promises" for things to happen by 2030...

I largely agree with this - I don't think Covid is a lie, but I don't trust the various governments to relinquish the authoritarianism, nor to pass on the opportunity for more.
