Question How can the Labour Party ignore the devastating effects of lockdowns?

Rachel Reeves, the shadow chancellor, has called for Plan B measures

How on earth can the Labour Party possibly support more restrictions and
potentially a further lockdown when the effects – on the economy, general
health, the impacts of other more serious diseases, and on life itself – are so
devastating?

How can it not see that these effects are greatest among its core supporters?

(taken from a letter to the DT)

the latest projections estimate that the infection rate is going to drop like a stone, without any plan B. So many times now, labour have got it completely wrong

Yup. So disappointed in them recently. And for a while. I remain politically homeless

I just get the feeling they object just for the sake of objecting without any real conviction behind it
