South West England is new COVID hotspot
The percentage of people testing positive for COVID-19 is estimated to have increased in all regions of England except the North East, North West and Yorkshire and the Humber, where the trend was uncertain, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics. South West England has the highest proportion for any region. Around one in 40 people were likely to test positive in the week to 22 October. London had the lowest proportion, at around one in 65. |
