SIR – Amid all the much-deserved criticism of Matt Hancock and others now
that there is blood in the water, the essential truths about our response to the Covid pandemic are in danger of being missed again. Lockdowns, masks and all the rest of the Covid hysteria did little or no good, and vast and continuing harm. So by all means go after the power-crazed individuals who got their 15 minutes of fame, but what we really need is an assurance that this crazy, nonsense- based approach to an infectious disease with a very low mortality rate among healthy people will never, ever be allowed to happen again. SIR – We need to dispel the idea that the pandemic was “unprecedented”
(Letters, March 4) if we are to truly learn the lessons. The world has faced pandemics and epidemics since the dawn of time. What was unprecedented, on this occasion, was the willingness of democratic governments to adopt the tactics of fear and coercion. The leaked WhatsApp messages in your Lockdown Files do not show politicians “doing their best”; they show a contempt for our democratic rights and an abuse of power. In any case, trying your best is no substitute for performing well and being accountable. By all means empathise with Matt Hancock in a way that he did not as loved ones and families were ripped apart for months on end. But if people are too ready to forgive and forget, we will learn nothing. Barry Gray Bournemouth, Dorset |

But he was "bullied" on IAC so doesn't that make him okay now?
It's sarcasm before anyone jumps in.

The Wuhan Laboratory virus !! I’m amazed that there aren’t a proliferation of legal firms advertising free legal support for anyone wanting to claim compensation from the lab !! How are they getting away with this !? Imagine if Boots had been tinkering around with some viruses and created a deadly coronavirus !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

However, a separate study by St George’s Hospital found that wearing surgical masks in a large London hospital during the first 10 months of omicron made no discernible difference to reducing hospital-acquired Covid infections.
Researchers from the hospital looked at infection rates between December 2021 and June 2022 when staff and visitors were required to wear masks in both clinical and public areas compared with after the policy was ended in June 2022. The analysis found that despite a Covid surge in June, and the ending of masks, the rate of infections was no higher. “Our study found no evidence that mandatory masking of staff impacts the rate of hospital SARS-CoV-2 infection with the omicron variant,” said lead author Dr Ben Patterson, from St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London. “That doesn’t mean masks are worthless against omicron, but their real-world benefit in isolation appears to be, at best, modest in a healthcare setting.” Dr Aodhan Breathnach from St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London. Added: “Many hospitals have retained masking at significant financial and environment cost and despite the substantial barrier to communication. “We hope this empirical evidence can help inform a rational and proportionate mask policy in health services.” The research was presented at the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases in Copenhagen. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/202...-omicron-mask/ one reply: "Ask them if they would be happy to strip asbestos in one of the blue rags, if not, well it isn’t going to stop a much tinier virus!" China may have started creating vaccines before telling the world that Covid-19 existed
Investigations by the committee show a team led by Professor Yusen Zhou of the Academy of Military Medical Sciences (AMMS) filed a patent for a Covid-19 vaccine on February 24, 2020. Vaccine developers interviewed by the investigators say it would have taken at least two to three months to reach such a stage, meaning work must have started in November 2019, one month before China released details of the virus. The report also revealed “uncertainties” surrounding the death of Prof Zhou, who died sometime in the spring of 2020. The Chinese government has not acknowledged his death or the circumstances. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-ne...t-covid-china/ |

[Doctor's death due to AstraZeneca Covid
vaccine reaction] [The death of a doctor after his Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 jab was due to "unintended complications of the vaccine", an inquest has ruled. Stephen Wright, an NHS psychologist in south-east London, died 10 days after his first dose in January 2021, senior coroner Andrew Harris found. Dr Wright, 32, suffered a blood clot to the brain after receiving the vaccine.] https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-65321937 This is rare, real sad he died. |

Do you now understand that when those "anti-vaxxers" As you call them, question whether the vaccine was the reason for sudden deaths, that there's actual reason behind it?
And you that call them "conspiracy theorists" to attempt to shame them and shut them down are pretty much the same as holocaust deniers. You are vaccine death deniers. Last edited by Alf; 20-04-2023 at 10:55 AM. |
