meanwhile Bottas in a weaker Alfa Romeo still doing better than Lewis in his mercedes

must be such a joy for Valtteri

and seems like Russell is adapting much better in these new cars than Lewis

also good on Norris for having had his first podium of this year, McLaren had quite a rough start anyway so that 3rd place is quite amazing

If this trend continues.. rather than rolling his sleeves up and fighting back I can actually see Hamilton retiring mid season !!

next week british grand prix

with eurovision runner up Sam Ryder to perform the national anthem before the race

https://www.silverstone.co.uk/news/s...ix-silverstone

Quote:
Fresh from his successful Eurovision campaign, Sam Ryder will perform the national anthem ahead of the 2022 Formula 1 Lenovo British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

The Essex singer-songwriter rose to prominence during lockdown when his TikTok videos began to attract plaudits from the likes of Alicia Keys and Sia. He went on to amass 13 million followers and 106m likes on the platform, making him the UK’s biggest artist on TikTok in 2021. Having captured the UK and Europe’s hearts with his song Space Man, Sam Ryder has become the highest-charting UK Eurovision Song Contest entry (No.2) in over 25 years. The stunning performance made him a household name, and he was subsequently invited to perform outside Buckingham Palace as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Concert.

Firmly established as a highlight of the British sporting calendar, the British Grand Prix is already sold out with a record 400,000 people set to visit for the first weekend in July. 142,000 will be in attendance on raceday with millions more watching across the globe as Sam Ryder opens proceedings at the Formula 1 Grid Ceremony.

Sam Ryder says: “From Eurovision to being invited to play the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Concert, the past few months have been a whirlwind and taught me that you can never dream too big!

“Since I was a kid I’ve always been a huge fan of Formula 1, and to combine that with music and performing at such a legendary event on the British sporting calendar is an honour.”

Following his performance of the national anthem, Sam Ryder will play the Main Stage in the Formula 1 Fanzone as part of the post-race concert. The stage will feature Formula 1 driver interviews as well as headline act Mabel supported by Alfie Templeman.

That’s disappointing .,

I read yesterday that Max had been dominant and unstoppable... now he’s second on the grid

yes because of the rain

also one who took optimal advantage of that, was Nicholas Latifi first time making it to Q3 and funny bit is his teammate Albon got the updates and remained in Q1 while him in a car without updates making it to Q3

good qualifying for Norris after last race where he really struggled

bit surprising to see Sainz outqualifying Leclerc while Leclerc is supposed to be the better of the ferrari's as well

Yet again ...

Max shafted .. loses the place he took on the first bend as though it didn’t happen .. even though it’s not a actual fresh restart .

Pretty sure that Le Clerk clipped Max on two separate occasions in the first 30 seconds ..

I’m sure they will blame Max though

Hamilton is lucky that George Russell is out of the race so I’m sure they will some how manufacture things to let him win the British GP again

That was a fantastic race.

Perez in particular was very impressive coming from 16th place to finish 2nd.

I'm also happy to see Hamilton reach the podium, and Schumacher actually getting points.

The only negative I had with the race is a rule that the Sport has, and that's why did Verstappen & Hamilton have to give up their spots that they'd earned at the beginning just because incidents happened that had nothing to do with them? I perfectly understand why there had to be a red flag, I just don't get why when the race restarted why Verstappen & Hamilton didn't keep their places that they'd earned?

But besides that I really enjoyed it, it was probably my favourite race of the season.
