Okay I haven't watched The Voice as much in recent years, but I was missing TXF so I've decided to give last year's season of The Voice a chance.
I have no idea who's won, I'm completely in the dark on how the general public or the Internet felt about the contestants, so I'm not being influenced by anybody else. Here's my rankings of the performances for each week. Oh and watch out for any spoilers for anyone else that's catching up like me. Top 13: 1. Girl Named Tom - Dust In The Wind - A very striking performance imo. 2. Joshua Vacanti - You Will Be Found 3. Jim & Sasha Allen - Your Song 4. Holly Forbes - The Dance 5. Shadale - Life Is A Highway - I actually liked her performance, clearly the public didn't agree with me. 6. Jershika Maple - God Only Knows 7. Lana Scott - Humble And Kind 8. Paris Winningham - What's Going On 9. Wendy Moten - Blue Bayou 10. Ryleigh Plank - Rhiannon 11. Jeremy Rosado - Because You Loved Me 12. Gymani - Made A Way 13. Hailey Mia - I Stand By You Imo Hailey & Gymani clearly had the weakest vocals on this particular night imo. Top 11: 1. Joshua Vacanti - The Show Must Go On (+1) 2. Girl Named Tom - More Hearts Than Mine (-1) 3. Hailey Mia - Elastic Heart (+8) - This was a strong turnaround imo, I personally haven't seen myself change on a contestant so much from one performance to another before. 4. Jim & Sasha Allen - Have You Ever Seen The Rain (-1) 5. Lana Scott - I Hope (+2) 6. Holly Forbes - Alone (-2) 7. Wendy Moten - Freeway Of Love (+2) 8. Paris Winningham - Use Me (Non-Mover) 9. Gymani - Diamonds (+1) 10. Jeremy Rosado - Reckless Love (-1) 11. Jershika Maple - How Can I Ease The Pain (-5) Quarter-Final: 1. Girl Named Tom - Viva La Vida (+1) 2. Jim & Sasha Allen - Stay (+2) - Their best performance imo. 3. Joshua Vacanti - If I Ain't Got You (-2) 4. Wendy Moten - Jolene (+3) 5. Lana Scott - The One That Got Away (Non-Mover) 6. Paris Winningham - Amazed (+2) 7. Hailey Mia - Peter Pan (-4) Okay the bottom three need to put into their own mini league here (with all due respect) because without meaning to be too mean to the contestants, but one butchered Paramore really badly, the other got a really inappropriate song choice for themselves, and the other contestant just kept doing really dull performances imo. 8. Holly Forbes - Last Dance (-2) 9. Jeremy Rosado - Freedom Was A Highway (Non-Mover) 10. Jershika Maple - Ain't It Fun (Non-Mover) - Without meaning to be too mean here, but Paramore is clearly not her kinda Music to sing. Semi-Final: Okay before doing this list, I just want to ask any Americans on this Forum that were watching this season of The Voice. What is wrong with your country? they sent home one of the best vocal talents of the year for someone that doesn't sing particularly great, tbh any of the three acts that went home on that night were better. Now onto my rankings of this Semi-final. 1. Joshua Vacanti - Ashes (+2) - Seriously what's wrong with the voters that vote on this Show? 2. Girl Named Tom - River (-1) 3. Hailey Mia - Someone You Loved (+4) 4. Jim & Sasha Allen - Mrs. Robinson (-2) 5. Lana Scott - Something In The Water (Non-Mover) 6. Wendy Moten - You're All I Need To Get By (-2) 7. Jershika Maple - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me (+1) 8. Paris Winningham - Close The Door (-2) Well that's just my opinion anyway, I'm interested to know if you guys agree or disagree with any of my opinions, and if so why? Just to also add, that out of the top 5 I definitely want Girl Named Tom to win as they're unique for the Show itself, plus they've delivered consistently really solid performances for me anyway. Hailey is too inconsistent. Wendy is talented, just not my type of singer. And Paris and Jershika both surprise me that they're still in the competition tbh. Going into the final I'm expecting it to be between Girl Named Tom, Wendy and Hailey to win, they're clearly more talented than the other two.

I've watched the final.
Here's my rankings. Uptempo round: 1. Jershika Maple - Rolling In The Deep (+3) - Finally a song that suited Jershika's voice, definitely her best performance imo. 2. Paris Winningham - Ain't Nobody (+3) - It was nice to see Paris sing a song with a bit of a beat to it. 3. Girl Named Tom - The Chain (-1) - Another good performance from them. 4. Wendy Moten - How Will I Know (-1) 5. Hailey Mia - Deja Vu (-2) Ballad round: 1. Girl Named Tom - Baby Now That I've Found You (+2) 2. Hailey Mia - Idontwannabeyouanymore (+3) 3. Paris Winningham - Me And Mrs. Jones (-1) 4. Jershika Maple - I'm Going Down (-3) 5. Wendy Moten - Over The Rainbow (-1) - Seriously the worst performance on the night. I really don't understand the Americans obsession with ear piercing notes, they seem to love it for some reason. Duet round: 1. Girl Named Tom & Kelly Clarkson - Leave Before You Love Me (Non-Mover) 2. Wendy Moten & Blake Shelton - Just A Fool (+3) - Wendy's best performance on the night by a mile imo. 3. Paris Winningham & Blake Shelton - Love Train (Non-Mover) 4. Hailey Mia & Kelly Clarkson - Funny (-2) 5. Jershika Maple & John Legend - O Holy Night (-1) Overall I feel like the right result happened as Girl Named Tom were consistently very good every week, whilst the other four were much more inconsistent imo. Overall though a very strong season of The Voice, and it was nice to see that there were less teeny bopper acts in the competition compared to other newer seasons.
