Default Caterine Tate is the new Dr Who companion!

Catherine Tate is new 'Doctor Who' companion
Wednesday, July 4 2007, 00:02 BST

By Neil Wilkes, Editor

Catherine Tate has been confirmed as David Tennant's new companion in the next series of Doctor Who.

The comedian will reprise her role as Donna, who featured in the most recent Christmas special, 'The Runaway Bride', for the full thirteen-episode run of series four. As previously reported, Freema Agyeman will return to the show mid-way through the series, which begins filming this month for broadcast from next Easter.

"Catherine was an absolute star in The Runaway Bride and we are delighted that one of Britain's greatest talents has agreed to join us for the fourth series," said exec producer Russell T Davies. "Viewers can expect more ambitious storylines and a whole host of guest stars in 2008."

Tate added: "I am delighted to be returning to Doctor Who. I had a blast last Christmas and look forward to travelling again through time and space with that nice man from Gallifrey."

The news follows confirmation that Kylie Minogue will guest star in this year's Christmas special, 'Voyage of the Damned'.

She was good in the Christmas episode so hopefully she will be good in the whole series. I'm glad Martha is coming back for half the series as well.

I love Catherine Tate, but on Dr Who?

After the Catherine Tate show, I just laugh while watching any serious acting she does in any drama, even if it's not funnny at all.

This should add a funny side to Dr Who.

I don't like "Catherine Tate" really. Her humour is rubbish, also her shows and her stupid sayings like, "Am I Bovvered?"

But

The "Runaway Bride" was one of my favourite episodes and Catherine came over better as an actress, so I look forward to the match up.

Really Chrizzle "Catherine Tate" does say more than "am I bovvered" Well, as she has done many shows, that is so obvious it is untrue. Glad you spotted that. I did

Did I use quotations? oh well, you'll live

Oh dear how sad, guess they can't do any better.

As for Chris Benoit he is a murderer and shouldn’t be iconified anymore.
