It's the MPs she needs the support of to lead them in parliament.
Of whom at least 230 didn't want her at all.
That's allowing for 15 to have switched to her.
Most of whom were Cabinet ministers who were crawling to keep ministerial positions once they saw she was near certain to win.

She didn't even get 50% of those Con members votes who were eligible to vote.

Joey

She won on the Totals Numbers

Foreign Secretary Truss receives 81,326 votes,
with 60,399 members voting for Rishi Sunak, her rival

It was on Every News

Any MP's that do not like her
Tough Titty.

Truss is a very stupid woman who I wouldn't put in charge of a sandwich shop.

Arista, it doesn't really work like that as you well know.

The membership of Labour elected Corbyn..
He had hardly any support of MPs.

The MPs worked against him all the way and all the time.

He was elected by a strong majority of Labour members.
( Not by my vote I add).
That didn't matter.

He couldn't command his MPs in parliament on much really.
That's the main arena.

Truss, has the likes of Johnson, Sunak, Patel, Javid and Gove now on the backbenches.
Who either left the Cabinet or who she didn't want.
That's a strong standing possible negative force as to her that I can see.

I certainly wouldn't trust Johnson.
He said he supported Mrs May, she made him Foreign Secretary but at every chance he worked against her.

I think she'll try & stay as long as she can , as I keep saying whoever is in charge .. we're still stuck in the same crappy government.

But Truss is one of the most 2 faced snakes there is ,she went from being a Lib Dem back in her younger years..to now a full on Tory, she just wants to climb the ladder . She's a turn coat with zero principles & zero integrity.

No Arista, the majority of MP's dont want her, so when the letters pile up a no confidence vote follows. It's simple arithmetic, if the majority cant stand her, she is out. Boris started from a much better position

Well I'll NEVER ever believe the Cons are only on 21%

However I do think voters are becoming sick of the Cons.
They have not a scrap of liking for Liz Gross.

They may be waking up to the fact that IF they want the Cons out they need to vote for the only party which can ensure they would be out.
That's Labour.

I don't believe they have a 33% lead but I do think the lead is growing to stronger levels.

Whatever deluded gross Truss thinks or the out of touch Con party members and their harder line voters think is right to do.
It appears the vast majority of decent voters are now starting to be sick of the heartless, deceitful Cons and don't at all want this hopeless deluded current PM.

does it matter until we get near an election tho?

What is a worry is there is no Giorgia Meloni or Ron DeSantis rising up in the wings

it does matter, because mp's don't want to lose their cushy jobs and will take action sooner rather than later

If they continue their tax cuts in November as promised, i think the letters will pile in to the 1922 committee. When all it needs is 35 letters and the vast majority of tory mp's don't want her, she could be out soon after giving a sensible replacement a year or so to turn it around for the election

If the Country wasn't heading into.dire straits, for my Party I'd love gross Truss left in place.

However for the Country she was and clearly IS the totally wrong and likely most unwanted choice.

Listening to her today however, shows her full incompetence and delusion.
What a hopeless and useless ornament she is.
