Regarding the goverment's drive to get the Over 50s and mums 'back to work', I was talking to a friend's dad today. He's 58 and has been on the dole for a year. Can't even get an interview, despite being a manager of a local department store for 10 years.

He said to me today, 'where are these jobs the government wants people like me and mothers to do? I've looked, I can't find them.'

He was also told by the dole to apply for work from home jobs, which are nothing more than filling surveys out. 'One job bragged of paying 10p per survey.'
