Default There is a Government Petition to force a debate on the UK Withdrawing, Human Rights

Trending on Twitter

I can see them reaching the 10,000
so a Parliament Debate can happen.

Then what?

It's absolutely insane what is happening within this country.

What do want? No human rights

When do not want them? Now.

Are there any Rights which are exclusively protected/mandated by the ECHR?

It's 100,000 needed for a debate isn't it.

This would send a terrible message to the World if any UK government advocated this.

This disease of "it's ok to do it to them, because they would never do it to me" needs to end, really. It's completely unsustainable and false. They have been stomping on our rights for 12 years, and in overdrive since Brexit. They aren't stopping here. They're already pushing austerity again, so they can protect the wealthy and corporate interests,

This country is a crumbling, fcuking hovel of a shell of what it used to be and could be again, but everyone just wants to make it worse.

Yes Joey
100,000 is needed in the very end
for a Parliament Debate
so a long way to go.

"This country is a crumbling"

That has nothing to do with this Group, Slim.

What group?

The same people that keep voting Tories in will account for pretty much all of this group. How many leftists/centrists do you think are cheering on an end to HR's?

For the sake of argument, it might make sense to actually force a debate instead of just letting the Tories do what they want.

What about kicking puppies or strangling babies? Should that be a debate, too? Once they get these things into consciousness, all of the rw papers hammer the topic day after day until the point where rubes are convinced that voting against themselves will help them.

it's not a debate, it's the opening they'll use to propagandise it till it becomes reality.

Is there a possibility that kicking puppies and strangling babies will be legislated? Is there a possibilty that the Tories already want to remove the UK from the ECHR?

Of course they want to remove us, and anytime you cede ground, it's legitimised it as a genuine discussion that needs to be had, when it isn't.

Nothing should be out of bounds for discussion does the ECHR offer any protections which aren't covered by anything else?

That's what they're saying for now.

It's a slippery slope when things like this happen.

Went to London recently walking past people claiming to be homeless, they all had the same coloured pieces of cardboard all with the same red writing, it read I’m very hungry the guy was about 15 stone

Another took it to another level had no shoes on and dirty feet but not dirty with ground in dirt just on the surface and his toenails where perfectly trimmed

It’s scum like these that harm the real vulnerable people

Same as people illegally using human rights law.

You can only see one side of coin

It’s human rights that sees convicted murderers in prison taking the government to court and getting awarded thousands because they didn’t get a dentist appointment on time

Gypsy/travellers pulling onto council owned land dumping tons of rubbish that costs thousands to clear up but they can’t be prosecuted because that would infringe their human rights

Why so many illegals are being put up in hotels and not sent back home is because they claim to have been trafficked and sending them back would be against their human rights a law Theresa may bought in, in 2016

Those same human rights protect you from being tortured by the police if you ever end up in their custody - ask some of the Irish posters on here whether the police would do it if they could get away with it.

I'll ignore your anti-traveller racism, and address the anti-asylum racism. The government have made it purposefully more difficult to both claim asylum here, and follow safe, legal routes to arrive here, by creating a"hostile environment." Even under this reality, 75% of all asylum claims are successful, which means 3 out of every 4 people in those dinghies has a legitimate reason to be here and claim asylum.
