Default Evri delivery doesn't deliver

We were expecting a JD Williams parcel delivered today between 11am to 12noon.

I was actually looking out the front room window during that time, to see if I could see the courier walking up the driveway. And then I received a text saying my parcel had been delivered.

No it hadn't.

Just to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me, I looked at the CCTV camera and the courier never even came to the door. So I rang JD Williams and they said 'try your neighbours'. I did but they were out.

Also, if the parcel had been delivered to neighbours, wouldn't the courier post a note through my door telling me where the parcel was. Well he couldn't because he never came to the front door.

The mystery deepens. Until then this courier gets a one star rating.

This happened to me and when i eventually looked at the porch pic they put next to the delivered it was not my porch. so i went out to look at either side porches and it was on my left, but in the porch and door closed (neighbours were on hols) so i got it.

Id check the porch pic on the tracking page

JD Williams said there is a photo of my parcel being delivered but it's a white door and ours is yellow.

Do you know what I think happened. I think the lazy courier had two parcels for this street.

He went to the first house and delivered their parcel, and then said 'can you take in a neighbour's parcel, they're out.' Killing two birds with one stone, so to speak.

I just phoned JD Williams about 20 minutes ago, and I told them I have knocked on the neighbour to my right's door twice and no answer. To the left is a club and they won't have it because they've been closed for weeks.

JD Williams said, 'why don't you go knocking on all the doors in your street to find out who might have the parcel.'

I said you kidding me. I'd look like a right loony knocking on people's doors saying 'do you happen to have my parcel.' Not doing that.

I will leave it two days to see if the person who has the parcel knocks on MY door. If not, I want money back.

Evri says the parcel was delivered to my address. A total lie.

Thanks for your kind replies.

You either get a good Evri delivery driver ~ which we now have, prev to that it was a nightmare , parcels not arriving etc... i wanted to return a parcel and 3 times they said it was going to be collected and no show so i posted ! 3 wks later a knock from an Evri driver to collect a parcel ~ if i had waited that long E bay woould have paid a claim against me... Very hit and miss and changing name fron Hermes has brought very little improvement. Good luck getting your parcel Gusto.

Yeah apparently the new courier is a new guy. The other delivery person was a young woman of about 22 years old. She was very good. Never ever any problems with her.

And I got my parcel is morning. Around 7.50am, I was going out on my bike, when a young guy shouted to me 'HEY!'. He was six doors up. Never spoke to him before. He had it.

But the funny thing is, the jacket I ordered is too small. Has to go back.

Hermes had 2 sides to it, standard van type deliveries or private car type deliveries, where people used to earn a few bob by picking up parcels local to them and delivering in their car. If you were unlucky and got one of those, it is hit or miss whether they just take the parcel and disappear into the sunset
