Default Video Games Appreciation Thread.

This thread will celebrate the best, underrated, and memorable for guilty pleasure reasons (or just harshly treated) Video Games throughout the generations.

Obviously as it's a thread it will be good if other members want to join in and add their own opinions to the topic.

I'll keep updating this list throughout the weeks.

Anyhow! Here we go.

1. Spark The Electric Jester 2

Genres - Platformer
Systems - Steam, Xbox One

Basically if you liked the Sonic Adventure Games, then Spark The Electric Jester 2 will be up your alley.

The combat isn't the greatest, but it's an Indie Game tbf, plus Sonic itself isn't known for it's combat either tbf.

I personally recommend any Sonic Adventure fan to play this particular Game.

2. Watch Dogs 2

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS4, Xbox One, Steam, Amazon Luna, Stadia

3. Original Resident Evil 4

Genres - Survival Horror, Third-Person Shooter
Systems - GameCube, PS2, Steam, Wii, iOS, Zeebo, PS3, Xbox 360, Android, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Oculus Quest 2

4. Mafia III

Genres - Action-Advdnture
Systems - PS4, Steam, Xbox One, macOS, Stadia

5. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

Genres - RPG
Systems - PS2

I haven't played the Remaster yet, but if you're looking for that version it's on the Switch, PS4, and Steam.

The PS2 version is great though, especially if you're patient with trying to learn the battle system because this Game is brutal.

Atlus were definitely not kind when making this Game.

Just to be clear though I don't think it's as hard as a Dark Souls Game, but it is tough still.

6. Sonic Adventure DX HD Edition

Genres - Platformer, Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, Xbox 360, Steam

The very original version of Sonic Adventure was a Dreamcast Game, and tbh is very similar to the one that I've recommended, the original version on the Dreamcast has got lower FPS though.

7. Original GTA: Vice City

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS2, Steam, Xbox, Mac OS X, iOS, Android, Fire OS

8. White Day: A Labyrinth Named School Remake

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - Android, iOS, Steam, PS4, Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

9. Silent Hill 2

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - PS2, Xbox

There is the HD Collection as well that has both Silent Hill 2 & 3 Remastered for the PS3 & Xbox 360, and there is a remake of Silent Hill 2 coming soon.

The very original version on the PS2 is a masterpiece imo, although tbf I haven't played the HD Collection, although I'm considering buying it soon from the Microsoft Store.

10. Chaos;Child

Genres - Visual Novel
Systems - Xbox One, PS3, PS4, PSVita, Steam, iOS, Android, Switch

A fantastic story driven Game.

11. Fahrenheit

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS2, Steam, Xbox, Xbox 360, Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, PS4

12. Pandemonium!

Genres - Platformer
Systems - PS1, Sega Saturn, Steam, N-Gage, Mobile, iOS

I've never been able to beat this Game as it's tough as nails, but a very good Game if you're up for the challenge.

13. 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors

Genres - Adventure, Visual Novel, Escape The Room
Systems - DS, iOS, Steam, PS4, PSVita, Xbox One

A fantastic Game imo, especially if you like more story driven Games then this twisted ride should be right up your alley.

14. Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex

Genres - Platformer
Systems - PS2, Xbox, GameCube

15. Persona 4 Golden

Genres - RPG, Social Sim
Systems - Steam, PS2, PSVita, Switch, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

16. Original Resident Evil 1

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - PS1, Sega Saturn, DS

17. Sleeping Dogs

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - Steam, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, macOS

18. Assault Gunners HD Edition

Genres - Action, Mecha, Shooter, Robots
Systems - Steam, PS4, Switch

I know that this Game gets a bad rep in some corners, but I think that it's a fun Game, and Ghost I think her name was, was a fun Nemesis from Resident Evil 3 type of encounter, and if I'm not mistaken it's not meant to be a triple A attempt like I'm gonna presume Armored Core, the Gundam Games, Front Mission, and the Macross Games are likely to be out of the Mecha Video Games.

Basically people need to cut it some slack imo, it did the best with the budget it was working with I believe, and that is a really fun Game if you're into upgrading your Mech Suits to get stronger.

Plus like Spark The Electric Jester, the Mafia franchise and the next Game coming up, the company that made this Game (I believe that it was Marvelous AQL) didn't sponge off a franchise doing it's 50 millionth installment just for the sake of it, that imo should be commended, not torn to pieces because it's not a mainstream Triple A Game when it's not even trying to be that kinda thing.

Imo a very underrated Game that hopefully people will be more open to in the future.

19. Hi-Fi Rush

Genres - Action, Rhythm, Beat Em Up, Hack And Slash
Systems - Xbox Series X/S, Steam

In an age where Games are either huge landscapes with grass, desert or mountains, and MMO Games, Hi-Fi Rush ends up being a breath of fresh air in comparison to those oversaturated markets.

For one there's level design, something that Open World Games can vary on.

And the Game is very original from the Games that I've personally experienced, so kudos to them on that.

And it is an original IP that isn't based off of anything, as much as the Hi-Fi Rush and Forspoken fans like to go at each other, both Games deserve credit in the 2020's for not being a cash grab on an established franchise and doing weird installments (I'm looking at you Sonic & Yakuza) because the company are tapped out of any genuine sequels for the franchise.

Ironically though neither Game sold well.

Controversially though I wouldn't call Hi-Fi Rush a masterpiece, but I would say that it's a decent Game with very creative ideas.

20. Yooka-Laylee

Genres - Platformer
Systems - Steam, PS4, macOS, Linux, Xbox One, Switch, Amazon Luna

The Game has it's flaws imo, and can be a bit frustrating for me sometimes.

However it is a good Game imo, and it does a very good job at recreating the 90's 3D Platformer vibe.

21. Sonic Adventure 2

Genres - Platformer, Action-Adventure
Systems - Dreamcast, GameCube, PS3, Xbox 360, Steam

22. Batman: Arkham Asylum

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, Xbox 360, Steam, Mac OS X, PS4, Xbox One

23. The Sinking City

Genres - Action-Adventure, Survival Horror
Systems - PS4, PS5, Steam, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

The combat isn't the greatest, but the story and general atmosphere are really strong imo.

A modern Open World Game with more than just grass.

But seriously it's a good Game if you like it's style, and I personally dig it.

24. Phantasy Star II

Genres - RPG
Systems - Sega Mega Drive

It may show it's age in the graphics department, but ironically I would say that it helped set up things that more modern and famous RPG titles went on to build on.

For example
Spoiler:

Phantasy Star II killed it's leading lady off halfway through the Game, something that Final Fantasy VII would later recreate in a more modern way at the time with Aerith.

And out of the Mega Drive Games that I've played, I would say that Phantasy Star II has the best story imo, by today's standards there's better, but it's still a decent story that holds up imo.

25. Yakuza Kiwami

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, PS4, Amazon Luna, Steam, Xbox One

26. Saw: The Video Game

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - PS3, Xbox 360

27. Original GTA: San Andreas

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS2, Xbox, Mac OS X, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Fire OS, Xbox 360, PS3, Oculus Quest 2

28. Knack

Genres - Platformer, Beat Em Up
Systems - PS4

29. Berserk And The Band Of The Hawk

Genres - Action, Hack And Slash
Systems - PS3, PS4, PSVita, Steam

I know that I keep plugging Berserk.

But honestly if you're not into reading or Anime, but you're a fan of Dark Souls (although thankfully for me not as difficult lol) as I personally struggle with getting into Dark Souls Games because of that, anyway you'll probably like Berserk And The Band Of The Hawk because yes the combat is significantly easier than a Dark Souls Game which the average Dark Souls fan might not like, but the story is strong, and if you frantic Hack And Slash combat it is there, but just significantly easier than a Dark Souls Game.

And the general aesthetic of both worlds are very similar, I will take a guess that From Software were heavily influenced by Berserk for their world design, but I might be wrong in saying that.

Personally I would love to see a Berserk JRPG Game in the future, but with all of the commercial failures recently for the franchise (including this hidden gem sadly) I don't think we'll be getting one.

30. Quantum Break

Genres - Action-Adventure, Third-Person Shooter
Systems - Steam, Xbox One

31. Alan Wake Remastered

Genres - Action-Adventure, Third Person Shooter, Mild Horror Themes
Systems - Xbox 360, Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch

32. AI: The Somnium Files

Genres - Adventure
Systems - Switch, PS4, Steam, Xbox One

There are some very strong puzzles in this Game.

The story and the characters are strong overall as well, although there's an aspect of the case that I would've personally improved, but I can't mention it too deeply because of spoilers for anyone that's interested in playing the Game.

33. Root Film

Genres - Visual Novel
Systems - Switch, PS4

Such an underrated Game imo, it has a really good story and characters imo.

It's at least a 9/10 from me, it might be a 10, it's a tough call.

34. Inazuma Eleven GO

Genres - RPG, Sports
Systems - 3DS

It's Pokemon and FIFA rolled into one.

What's not to love?

35. FIFA 23

Genres - Sports
Systems - Switch, PS4, PS5, Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

I know that I'm going against the grain here, but I did enjoy the Game.

In particular beating Real Madrid 3-0 as Birmingham City was a huge highlight, and could only ever happen on FIFA.

36. Ristar

Genres - Platformer
Systems - Sega Mega Drive

37. Batman: Arkham City

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, Xbox 360, Steam, Wii U, OS X, PS4, Xbox One

38. Mario Party 5

Genres - Party
Systems - GameCube

I remember loving Mario Party 5 as a kid.

Tbh 4 & 5 in the Mario Party series having so much content in them that it meant that the Games had a long lifespan, especially compared to the Switch one, which don't get me wrong I liked that Game, but it desperately needed more boards.

39. Mario Party 4

Genres - Party
Systems - GameCube

40. Super Mario Party

Genres - Party
Systems - Switch

As I've already said, it's a good Game.

I just feel like it needed a bit more of a lifespan to put it up there with Mario Party 5 in particular for me.

41. Heavy Rain

Genres - Interactive Drama, Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, PS4, Steam

42. Original Layers Of Fear 1

Genres - Adventure, Psychological Horror
Systems - Linux, Steam, macOS, PS4, Xbox One, Switch

This Game has a sequel that came out in 2019 called Layers Of Fear 2 (shock) and I don't too many details about this, but there is a Game coming out this year for this series, but I can't tell if it's a sequel, a remake, a Spin-off, or as Mindy from Scream 5 put it "a requel" where it's part remake and part sequel.

But seriously I don't know that much on that upcoming installment, hopefully it's good quality like the first two Games were imo.

43. ModNation Racers

Genres - Kart Racing
Systems - PS3, PSP

44. Original Resident Evil 2

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - PS1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, GameCube, Game.Com

I'm sure that the Remake is well made tbf.

But if you're up for the tank controls, corny voice acting, and B-Movie dialogue then the original Resident Evil 2 is a classic.

Plus tbf it does have a good Horror atmosphere, and some strong Puzzle design, especially compared to modern Resident Evil Games.

45. Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness

Genres - Visual Novel
Systems - Xbox One, Steam, PS4, PSVita

If you're not into Anime then I recommend at least experiencing Psycho-Pass's world through this medium.

Imo it's not as good as the Anime, but it's still a decent Game imo.

46. BioShock 1

Genres - First-Person Shooter
Systems - Steam, PS3, Xbox 360, Mac OS X, iOS

There was also a Remastered collection of the BioShock trilogy released for the PS4 too.

47. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Genres - Kart Racing
Systems - Switch, Wii U

48. Final Fantasy Type-O HD

Genres - Action RPG
Systems - PS4, Xbox One, Steam

49. Silent Hill 1

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - PS1

50. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

Genres - Action-Adventure, Third-Person Shooter
Systems - PS3

Like BioShock there is a Remastered collection of the first three Uncharted Games for the PS4.

And tbh this was back in the day when Naughty Dog knew how to make fun Games, rather than pleasing the critics who hate Video Games and the people who play them.

51. Persona 5

Genres - RPG, Social Sim
Systems - PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

52. Star Fox 64 3D

Genres - Rail Shooter
Systems - 3DS

The original Game was obviously on the Nintendo 64.

Personally this Game is really fun, each scenario can be a bit short for my taste, but it's still a really fun and well made Game imo.

53. Rayman Legends

Genres - Platformer
Systems - Steam, PS3, PS4, Switch, PSVita, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Stadia

54. Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric

Genres - Action-Adventure, Platformer
Systems - Wii U

Okay I know that I'm probably gonna get slaughtered for putting this on the list, but I do like the Game.

I feel like some people judge this Game as a mainline title, when it's a Spin-off set in an alternate reality to the main series, and I personally feel like it's done well (it's even better in the Cartoon series) but imo I think that this might be my favourite installment in the Sonic Boom Game series, I think that I liked playing the Game on a Console, plus it was a bit more challenging and memorable for me than Fire & Ice (although that Game is decent tbf as well) and it was less finicky than Shattered Crystal in terms of how to progress to the next level (again though I do like Shattered Crystal) and personally I avoided any glitches on my playthrough of Rise Of Lyric.

I think it's one of those Games imo, don't listen to my opinion or anybody elses opinion of the Game, just go in with an open mind, and remember it's not meant to be apart of the main series (unlike Frontiers) so do keep that in mind when wondering why some of the characters are behaving differently to normal.

Tbf though you might still hate the Game which is fair enough, but you might be surprised that the Game does have it's charms, and is imo a fun Game to play.

55. Hardcore 4x4

Genres - Racing
Systems - PS1, Sega Saturn

56. Yakuza Kiwami 2

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS4, Xbox One, Steam

Possibly my favourite installment in the Yakuza franchise.

The OTT ending was really fun imo.

57. Beach Buggy Racing

Genres - Kart Racing
Systems - Android, PS4, Steam, Xbox One, Switch, iOS, Fire OS

58. Outlast 1

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - Steam, PS4, Xbox One, Linux, OS X, Switch

59. SoulCalibur VI

Genres - Fighting
Systems - PS4, Steam, Xbox One

I think that this Game is really fun imo.

Especially the Creation Center stuff is really fun to mess around with.

The only mode I've got to eventually try properly is the story mode where you create your own character, and you get to choose if you want to be good or evil. I think that the mode also had a slightly more RPG gameplay focus.

It's a very good Game imo, I had a good time with it.

60. Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - PS1, Game Boy Color, Steam, Dreamcast, PS2

61. Primal

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS2, PS4

Such an underrated Game imo.

62. Original Crash Bandicoot 1

Genres - Platformer
Systems - PS1, PS3

And there is a Remastered Compilation of the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy that's on the PS4, Switch, Steam, and Xbox One.

I haven't played the Remaster of any of the PS1 Crash Bandicoot Games.

I do love the original versions though.

63. Original Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back

Genres - Platformer
Systems - PS1, PS3

Just to clarify you can download the first three Crash Bandicoot Games, you cannot physically buy them for the PS3.

64. Original Crash Bandicoot: Warped

Genres - Platformer
Systems - PS1, PS3

65. L.A. Noire

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Steam, Switch, Xbox One

A slow start for the first couple of levels, but overall a very interesting Game imo.

66. NanoTek Warrior

Genres - Tube Shooter
Systems - PS1

Tbh I'm **** at the Game.

But it is a really fun and unique Game imo, there's not many Shooters like it that I've played personally.

I'm hoping that one day it'll get put up on the PlayStation Store as while it is dated in certain areas, the gameplay still holds up well imo.

67. Original GTA III

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS2, Xbox, Mac OS X, Android, iOS, Fire OS

68. Thief

Genres - Stealth
Systems - PS3, PS4, Steam, Xbox 360, Xbox One, OS X, Nvidia Shield

This is a reboot of the Thief series.

I have never played the first three, and tbh it has been awhile since I've played this particular Game.

However I do remember liking the multiple different ways that you could do missions, and the general tone of the Game worked really well for my taste.

Personally I think it's another underrated Game over the last decade.

69. LMA Manager 2003

Genres - Football Management
Systems - PS2, Xbox

I used to be addicted to this Game, even though I was a terrible Manager.

I've got to do a replay of it someday.

70. Cool Boarders 1

Genres - Snowboarding
Systems - PS1

It's dated by today's standards in terms of it's simplicity.

But I do get a kick out of the Game personally.

71. Silent Hill: Downpour

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - PS3, Xbox 360

72. Let's Make A Soccer Team

Genres - Football Management
Systems - PS2

73. Slender: The Arrival

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - Steam, OS X, PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Switch, Android, iOS

74. Red Dead Redemption 2

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS4, Xbox One, Steam, Stadia

Being brutally honest, I don't see this Game as one of my favourites of all time.

However I can appreciate the quality of the Game, and I do still like RDR2, it's just my preferences definitely lie elsewhere in terms of my out and out favourite Games on this list.

Having said that, it is a very well made Game, and Arthur and Dutch in particular are great characters.

I do recommend this to anyone just looking for a high quality Game, and aren't too fussed about the type of Game that it is like some people were when this Game initially released.

75. Original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - PS1, GameCube, Dreamcast

76. Kid Chameleon

Genres - Platformer
Systems - Sega Mega Drive

77. Pro Evolution Soccer 4

Genres - Sports
Systems - PS2, Xbox

78. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles

Genres - Adventure
Systems - Steam, Switch, PS4

Technically it's two Games in one, and both Games are really fun with some eccentric characters to explore.

It's a spin-off to the Phoenix Wright Games, although I haven't played them personally, so I can't judge the Phoenix Wright Games.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles though is great imo.

79. Home Sweet Home 1

Genres - Horror-Adventure
Systems - Steam, PS4, Xbox One

80. Home Sweet Home 2

Genres - Horror-Adventure
Systems - Steam

Imo the first Game is a lot better, but this Game is still decent.

Imo the biggest flaw with the Game is when the combat becomes really prominent in the last chunk of the Game as it was clunky as hell, being honest I quit the Game in frustration at that final third of the Game in particular.

But tbf the company is not a AAA company so it's understandable why the combat isn't the next Resident Evil in their defense.

The first half of the Game is strong though (even if it's a bit of a Mannequin Simulator) and I do recommend any Horror fan to at least try that part out.

Overall I'd say it's a solid 7 to 7.5/10 type of Game, which I think means it's a good Game.

81. Beach Buggy Racing 2

Genres - Kart Racing
Systems - PS4, Steam

They're the systems that I'm aware of BBR2 being on anyway.

82. Mario Smash Football

Genres - Sports
Systems - GameCube

This Game is known in certain parts of the world as Super Mario Strikers.

Either way it was a really fun Game that I have got to do a replay of, and definitely recommend younger players that like Sports Games to try it out, especially the Sports players that love Fantasy infused Sports Games.

83. Layers Of Fear 2

Genres - Psychological Horror
Systems - Steam, PS4, Xbox One, Switch

84. Enslaved: Odyssey To The West

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, Xbox 360, Steam

The Game flopped commercially if I'm being brutally honest.

However the quality is really good imo, I remember having a really fun time playing this Game anyway.

I kind of miss Games like this where it was just fun, rather than waiting 5 hours to get out of a tutorial.

Regardless I personally think that this Game is heavily underrated, another Game that I need to replay again.

85. Sonic Heroes

Genres - Platformer, Action
Systems - PS2, Xbox, GameCube

Hopefully it'll get re-released on a modern Console.

86. Until Dawn

Genres - Interactive Drama, Horror
Systems - PS4

87. Silent Hill 3

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - PS2

88. Detroit: Become Human

Genres - Adventure
Systems - PS4, Steam

89. Devil May Cry 1

Genres - Action-Adventure, Hack And Slash
Systems - PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Steam, Xbox One, Switch

90. My Hero One's Justice

Genres - Fighting
Systems - Switch, PS4, Steam, Xbox One

91. The Evil Within

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - Steam, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One

92. Mafia II

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, PS4, Steam, Xbox 360, Mac OS X, Xbox One

93. Nickelodeon Kart Racers

Genres - Kart Racing
Systems - Switch, PS4, Xbox One

I haven't played the two sequels that came after so I can't judge them.

I will be honest with the first installment, it's not the best Kart Racer by a long shot, but for die hard fans of the genre (such as myself) it is still a decent Kart Racing Game with some iconic characters to play as, and some decent race tracks to work with.

The biggest improvements for me in the sequels would be to make the roster larger, and to make the difficulty be slightly sharper, nothing too extreme because I get that it's a kids Game primarily (and I don't like Games being sadistically difficult for the sake of it) but maybe to the level of what 100cc is like on Mario Kart would be good imo.

However for a first outing, it's overall a decent effort.

94. The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope

Genres - Interactive Drama, Survival Horror
Systems - PS4, PS5, Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

Now that I've calmed down from the ending, I can appreciate that most of this Game is a good Game.

Think of it as playing an interactive version of Silent Hill, a group of people survive a Bus crash and end up in an eerie town called Little Hope, and obviously it goes from there.

And you don't have to play Man Of Medan to understand what's going on in Little Hope.

Although Man Of Medan is a good Game in it's own right imo.

There is also a third installment called House Of Ashes, but I haven't played that one yet.

95. The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man Of Medan

Genres - Interactive Drama, Survival Horror
Systems - PS4, PS5, Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch

96. Yakuza 3

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, PS4, Steam, Xbox One

Being honest before the bastardized JRPG came out Yakuza 3 was my least favourite Game in the Yakuza franchise (I haven't played the spin-off titles yet) because it was a bit slow off the ground for the first 2 to 3 chapters.

But tbf as the Game does go along it does warm up really nicely imo, and it is if I'm not mistaken the first installment to introduce Karaoke to the franchise which is always a big plus point for side content.

And in fairness it does have it's own character that makes it unique to the franchise, whilst trying to respect the franchise.

It's imo a very good Game, but give it time to warm up is my advice.

97. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time

Genres - Platformer
Systems - PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Switch, Xbox Series X/S, Steam

98. Everybody's Golf 2017

Genres - Sports
Systems - PS4

99. Mystery Murders: Jack The Ripper

Genres - Hidden-Object
Systems - 3DS

100. GTA IV

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, Xbox 360, Steam

101. Luigi's Mansion 3

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - Switch

102. Saints Row IV

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - Steam, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Linux, Switch, Stadia

103. Sonic And The Black Knight

Genres - Platformer, Action-Adventure, Hack And Slash
Systems - Wii

Imo a severely underrated Sonic Game.

Again I think that the critics misunderstood this Game and gave it a bad reputation with the masses who held Game Magazines with higher regard in 2009, and sadly meant that it probably wasn't given a shot by some people that would've probably enjoyed the sword mechanics and the Arthurian world.

I hope that Sega stops de-listing it and actually re-release it instead.

104. The Incredibles

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS2, Game Boy Advance, Mac OS X, Xbox

I feel like the Game is very fun to play.

But the biggest selling point that I really want to recommend is the Omnidroid boss fights, I would honestly say that it might've been the best set of boss fights that I've played over the last few years.

But the Game in general is a lot better than you might think.

105. Miitopia

Genres - RPG
Systems - Switch, 3DS

106. Tomodachi Life

Genres - Social Sim
Systems - 3DS

107. Resident Evil: Code Veronica X

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube, PS3, Xbox 360

I've never beat the Game, but it's a Game that I highly respect and enjoy personally.

The twins in particular are a very memorable duo.

108. Trivial Pursuit Live!

Genres - Trivia, Game Show
Systems - PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia

109. Boggle PS4 Game

Genres - Puzzle
Systems - PS4

110. Mario Kart: Double Dash

Genres - Kart Racing
Systems - GameCube

111. Pro Evolution Soccer 6

Genres - Sports
Systems - PS2, PSP, DS, Xbox 360

112. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Genres - Action-Adventure, Third-Person Shooter
Systems - PS3

There is a Remastered version of the Game on the PS4 in a bundle with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 3.

113. Batman: Arkham Origins

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360, Steam

114. The Walking Dead: Season One

Genres - Graphic Adventure, Interactive Drama
Systems - Android, iOS, Kindle Fire HDX, OS X, Steam, Switch, Ouya, PS3, PS4, PSVita, Xbox 360, Xbox One

115. Watch Dogs 1

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - Steam, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Stadia

I know that some people were upset that the graphics weren't as good as the trailer made it out to be.

However I do think that if people give this Game a second chance that you'll see it's charms and creativity that it brought to the genre.

Is it as good as Watch Dogs 2? Imo no, but I do think that it's a good Game still, just don't expect it to be the next GTA.

116. BioShock 2

Genres - First-Person Shooter
Systems - PS3, Steam, Xbox 360, Mac OS X

117. Driveclub

Genres - Racing
Systems - PS4

118. Yakuza 4

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, PS4, Steam, Xbox One

Controversially this might be my second favourite Yakuza Game.

It was experimental but also familiar if that makes sense.

Like it had the multiple playable characters idea which was new to the franchise at the time, but the overall Gameplay, tone & style were still very much a Yakuza Game.

119. Spark The Electric Jester 3

Genres - Platformer
Systems - Steam

120. Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

Genres - Light Gun Shooter, Rail Shooter
Systems - Wii, PS3

I've played this a few months ago on PlayStation Plus.

Tbh though I was crap at the Game, but tbf I don't play this type of Shooter very often so it's probably going to take me awhile to get good at the genre.

Anyway I had a lot of fun with the Game, it was nostalgic to play through Resident Evil 2 & Code Veronica in a more modern style (at least in comparison to the original versions of those Games) I was happy to have played the Game.

121. Ratchet & Clank

Genres - Platformer
Systems - PS2

122. SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated

Genres - Platformer, Action-Adventure
Systems - Switch, PS4, Steam, Xbox One, Stadia, Android, iOS

123. Beyond Oasis

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - Sega Mega Drive

124. Vectorman

Genres - Platformer
Systems - Sega Mega Drive

125. Lego City Undercover

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - Switch, Wii U, PS4, Steam, Xbox One

126. Final Fantasy IX

Genres - RPG
Systems - PS1, PS4, Steam, Switch, Android, iOS, Xbox One

127. Sonic The Hedgehog

Genres - Platformer
Systems - Sega Mega Drive, Arcade, Game Boy Advance, Steam, 3DS, iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Switch

It's a classic 2D Sonic Game, and where it all began for the franchise.

128. Pokemon Sun And Moon

Genres - RPG
Systems - 3DS

This Game was addictive when I played it imo.

For those looking for a challenging experience, it won't really give you that (apart from the final boss) but if you can get around that it's a really fun Game to play.

129. Original Final Fantasy VII

Genres - RPG
Systems - PS1, PS4, Steam, iOS, Android, Switch, Xbox One

130. Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments

Genres - Adventure
Systems - Steam, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Switch

131. Knack II

Genres - Action, Platformer
Systems - PS4

132. Ys Seven

Genres - Action RPG
Systems - PSP, Steam

Brilliant Game, and the story while it's subtle, it is very good.

I've only played two Ys Games so far, and I would say that the franchise needs to stop being so overlooked in the west imo.

133. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa Of DANA

Genres - Action RPG
Systems - PSVita, PS4, Steam, Switch, Stadia, PS5, Android, iOS

The Game imo needs a bit of a warm up period, but overall I think that it's a very good Game.

Dana's character in particular is much better written than she might appear on paper (because the Japanese have written a lot of bad fan service characters over the years imo) but Dana is one of the exceptions in my view.

134. GTA V

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

This is probably the last great GTA Game before the modern creators from the west start to ruin the quality in GTA VI.

A very good GTA Game imo, Trevor in particular is a very memorable character.

135. Beyond: Two Souls

Genres - Interactive Drama, Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, PS4, Steam

136. Triangle Strategy

Genres - Tactical RPG
Systems - Switch, Steam

137. Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal

Genres - Action-Adventure, Platformer
Systems - 3DS

138. Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice

Genres - Action-Adventure, Platformer
Systems - 3DS

139. Mario Kart DS

Genres - Kart Racing
Systems - DS

140. Horizon: Zero Dawn

Genres - Action RPG
Systems - PS4, Windows

141. Dragon Ball Fusions

Genres - RPG
Systems - 3DS

I haven't finished the Game yet, but it's a real hidden gem of a Game imo.

I'm not someone that's followed the Dragon Ball series before, but this Game is so good imo that it's definitely opened me up to checking more Dragon Ball stuff out in the future.

142. Mass Effect: Andromeda

Genres - Action RPG
Systems - PS4, Steam, Xbox One

I really liked Mass Effect: Andromeda, I don't care if some people disagree with me, I think that it's a fun Game.

143. Riptide GP2

Genres - Racing, Sports, Action, Simulation, Arcade
Systems - PS4, Steam

I don't know if it's on any other system.

It's a fun racing Game by the team who did the Beach Buggy Racing Games, imo not as good as Beach Buggy Racing, but I definitely enjoyed it still, and it's very different to most of the Games that I play which probably makes it standout for me more.

But it's a good Game, if you're into Racers you should definitely give it a shot.

Although remember that it's an Indie Game that came out in 2014, so don't expect it to look like a AAA Racing Game from 2023.

144. FIFA Football 2003

Genres - Sports
Systems - PS1, PS2, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Xbox, Mobile Phone

145. FIFA Football 2005

Genres - Sports
Systems - PS1, PS2, GameCube, Xbox, Game Boy Advance, PSP, N-Gage, Gizmondo, Mobile Phone

It was my first FIFA Game that I ever played, and it's still my personal favourite.

I remember having very fond moments trying to build teams like Kidderminster Harriers into the next Man Utd, Arsenal, or Chelsea (the three best English teams at the time) a truly fantastic FIFA Game imo.

146. FIFA 07

Genres - Sports
Systems - PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube, PSP, DS, Game Boy Advance, Java ME

147. FIFA 08

Genres - Sports
Systems - Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PS3, PSP, DS, N-Gage 2.0, Java ME

148. FIFA 10 (DS version)

Genres - Sports
Systems - DS

I'm emphasizing this version because for some reason I just love it's basic ass so much.

Definitely a guilty pleasure pick for me imo, just like FIFA 12 on the 3DS.

149. FIFA 12 (3DS version)

Genres - Sports
Systems - 3DS

Again this version of FIFA 12 was such a guilty pleasure Game for me.

I still to this day do the odd replay of the Game.

150. Outlast 2

Genres - Survival Horror
Systems - Steam, PS4, Xbox One, Switch

Not as good as the first one imo, but still a solid Game overall imo.

151. Batman: Arkham Knight

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS4, Steam, Xbox One

152. Red Dead Redemption 1

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, Xbox 360

Imo not a perfect Game, but I did enjoy the Game overall.

153. Resident Evil 5

Genres - Third-Person Shooter
Systems - PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Steam, Shield Android TV, Xbox One, Switch

I know that I'm arguably being a hypocrite here ripping into certain installments of certain franchises for not being faithful to their series style of Game but praising Resident Evil 5, which is guilty of a similar offense.

However I will say two things in Resident Evil 5's defense versus Yakuza 7 and the first few hours that I've played of Sonic Frontiers, or even Resident Evil with 7 & Village.

1. I do feel like Resident Evil 5 keeps enough of a B-Movie camp vibe to still feel like a Resident Evil Game (even with the Horror components missing) plus the Game does have Chris, Jill & Wesker in the Game, who are all major characters in the Resident Evil franchise, plus Resident Evil has always had a lot of Action since it's inception so it's transformation isn't as big of a leap imo as Breath Of The Sonic or Yasona for example in my view.

2. Imo Resident Evil 5 is just the more fun and better executed Game (debatable with Resi 7 tbf) but I personally way prefer 5 to Resident Evil 7, but I honestly feel like it kills Village, Yakuza: Like A Dragon & Sonic Frontiers in terms of being far removed from the franchise's usual style to appeal to new fans trick. The reason I say that is naturally it's gameplay is far less grindy compared to Yakuza: Like A Dragon which might honestly have the worst RPG battle system that I've ever played. Is more entertaining than Village in my view. And Sonic Frontiers may not just be the worst Sonic Game of all time or even the worst Open World Game of all time, it may actually be the worst Game of all time out of every genre and sub-genre out there, I honestly still can't believe that Sega sent a mainline Sonic Game out that was slow and basically was a huge landscape with a few Robots in there. Despite my issue with modern Resident Evil Games (including 5 in this to some extent) at least I've never felt ripped off when buying one of their Games in terms of how much content is in the Game. Tbh I don't know if I will ever be able to trust Sega again to reach the standard that I'm looking for in a Sonic Game (which tbh my standards were a lot more forgiving compared to some Sonic fans) but the fact that they thought it was okay to send an Open World Sonic Game out that was mostly barren, and was even Open World in the first place just shows that modern Sega are off their rocker, especially when you look at the fact that they also did a Turn Based Yakuza RPG.

Basically Resident Evil 5 imo is a quality Game at least, even if it doesn't feel 100% like how a Resident Evil Game should feel.

154. Resident Evil 6

Genres - Third-Person Shooter
Systems - PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Steam, Switch

The last mainline Resi title that I genuinely enjoyed personally.

Yes it has it's flaws (most notably the short lengths of each campaign) but I personally still found those campaigns to still be more entertaining than the second half of Resi 7 & 95% of Village.

155. Yakuza 5

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, PS4, Steam, Xbox One

156. Devil May Cry 2

Genres - Action-Adventure, Hack And Slash
Systems - PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Steam, Switch

Don't get me wrong the Game does have it's flaws, and is not as good as 1 or 3 imo (I haven't touched DMC 4 or 5 yet) but I still think that it's entertaining in it's own right.

It's a good Game, not amazing imo, but definitely still a good Game.

157. Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening

Genres - Action-Adventure, Hack And Slash
Systems - PS2, PS3, PS4, Steam, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Switch

I'll be honest, I didn't beat the Game.

However I do appreciate that it is a fantastic Game in hindsight, even if the difficulty is ****ing harsh.

158. Dragon Age: Origins

Genres - RPG
Systems - Steam, Xbox 360, PS3, Mac OS X

159. Final Fantasy XVI

Genres - Action RPG
Systems - PS5

It's not a perfect Game imo as there is a couple of things that I'd personally fix in the Game, but overall I don't think that it can be denied that it's a very well crafted Game by Square Enix, plus I do think that it's been one of the most entertaining AAA Games over the last three or four years.

Update... I've finally beat the Game, I would honestly say that it was a really good Game, plus it was nice to see a AAA Game that wasn't Open World for a change, because whilst I've praised some Open World Games on this thread, I still don't think that the modern Open World style can beat good old fashioned civilization and buildings to enter on a more regular basis.

Jill's a bit of a weak character for the Game imo, but nothing Game destroying thankfully.

And the rest of the Game I highly recommend personally.

Just to clarify, I do love City based Open World Games like GTA & Mafia III (if we include City environments as Open World) but the modern style of mainly being out in the wilderness or other non-City based environments I tend to like if done well, but overall I find that Games like Final Fantasy XVI's semi-Open World approach to be much more my style.

160. Sonic Mania

Genres - Platformer
Systems - Switch, PS4, Xbox One, Steam

161. Yakuza 6: The Song Of Life

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS4, Steam, Xbox One

162. The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - Wii, GameCube, Nvidia Shield TV

163. NHL 16

Genres - Sports
Systems - PS4, Xbox One (as far as I'm aware)

164. Inazuma Eleven

Genres - RPG, Sports
Systems - DS, 3DS

Imo it is a fantastic series imo, and this is where it all began, but I don't believe that you have to play these Games in chronological order because most of the storylines are self-contained imo.

And look I get that RPG fans and Sports fans don't always see eye to eye in the Video Game world, but this is basically Pokemon meets FIFA in terms of getting their core elements down, I mean especially a lot of dejected FIFA fans should look at this Game because it offers something different to the table compared to the usual Football Game.

165. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Genres - Action-Adventure, Third-Person Shooter
Systems - PS3

It's not as good as the first two imo (I am with TS on that) but I still think that the Game is fun to play, and I wish that AAA Games on average were more like Uncharted 3 than what they tend to be like nowadays.

166. Batman: The Telltale Series

Genres - Graphic Adventure
Systems - PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, iOS, Android, Switch

167. Batman: The Enemy Within

Genres - Graphic Adventure
Systems - macOS, PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, Switch

168. Yakuza 0

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS3, PS4, Steam, Xbox One

169. The Walking Dead: Season Two

Genres - Graphic Adventure, Interactive Movie
Systems - Steam, OS X, PS3, PS4, PSVita, iOS, Switch, Ouya, Android, Xbox 360, Xbox One

170. The Walking Dead: The Final Season

Genres - Graphic Adventure
Systems - Switch, PS4, Steam, Xbox One

Definitely a bounce back from the more middling Third Season imo.

I really enjoyed this Game a lot, it's my favourite TWD Game after the First Season, and I would say it's only narrowly behind it imo.

Tbh Telltale overall just did a really good job with TWD in my view, they understood that it should have a cohesive narrative, and not to out stay it's welcome.

171. The Walking Dead: Michonne

Genres - Graphic Adventure, Interactive Movie
Systems - Steam, OS X, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, iOS, Android

172. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth

Genres - RPG
Systems - PS1, PSP, Android, iOS

173. Sonic Unleashed

Genres - Platformer, Action-Adventure, Beat 'Em Up
Systems - PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, Mobile Phone

174. Crash Team Racing

Genres - Kart Racing
Systems - PS1

175. Octopath Traveler

Genres - RPG
Systems - Switch, Steam, Stadia, Xbox One

176. Octopath Traveler II

Genres - RPG
Systems - Switch, PS4, PS5, Steam

177. Ultimate Douchebag Workout

Genres - Fitness Sim

It's a Flash Game on the Internet so it isn't on a Console.

I absolutely loved this Game during my teen years in particular, I remember playing it to death.

And I know that by today's society some people will look at this as an Incel Game, but I honestly believe that it was just an individual or a team of people (I don't know the development history of this Game) that were just having a laugh, I don't believe that there were any ill intentions in the Game to promote Andrew Tate ideology.

All I can say is judge for yourself, you can only play the Game on a Laptop/PC as far as I'm aware, but I do know of a couple of websites that host this Game.

I can't advertise the websites openly though because TIBB does have rules against that type of stuff I think, so for anyone that's interested you'll definitely find this imo really fun Game to play.

178. Halo: Combat Evolved

Genres - FPS
Systems - Xbox, Steam, Mac OS X, Xbox 360

I have never played a Halo Game before so this was my first entry into the series.

And I've got to say that I was pleasantly surprised at just how fun this Game was, because I'd gotten into my head that it was just another overhyped trashy Game series that the West was hyping up.

However I would say that imo it's a Game that really meets the hype as the campaign is phenomenal (I haven't played any multiplayer on the Game) the enemy variety, Gun variety, and location variety is very strong on the Game.

The Game also is a bit sharper than some of it's FPS rivals in the sense of it makes you have to actually think in some of the fights, I personally had to in certain situations know when to attack and when to flee, rather than just mindless shooting all of the time.

And the story is actually quite good, even if it isn't always the main focus of the Game, when it is being focused on, it is a story with a lot of potential.

The only flaw that I really had with the Game was the controls for the vehicles (especially the Warthog) it should be made a crime to have the player drive those things in a Halo Game in the future.

But overall I'd give the Game at least a solid 8.5/10, maybe even a 9/10 as it was a lot of fun, and it was very well made.

179. Judgment

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox Series X/S, Steam

180. Fighting Vipers

Genres - Fighting
Systems - Arcade, Saturn, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360

I'll be completely honest with you guys.

I have only been playing Fighting Vipers thanks to Judgment having the Game in Club Sega.

But I do really like the Game so far, I am trying to beat it as Bahn at the moment, but Raxel keeps making me pour blood like it's November Rain.

Seriously though this Game doesn't show blood, so if you're squeamish when it comes to blood you have nothing to fear from this Game, other than brutal difficulty that is.

Tbf though I've had a lot of fun with the Game.

181. Motor Raid

Genres - Racing
Systems - Arcade (Sega Model 2 to be exact) Judgment

And yes if you like the look of Motor Raid and you're a Console player then you have only two unconventional choices to play it.

1. Buy an Arcade system or go to an Arcade to play the Game, if the Game is still in your local Arcade Store anyway.

2. Buy Judgment, and play a version of Motor Raid at Club Sega, which for anyone not familiar with the Yakuza franchise, it's an Arcade in the Yakuza universe where you can play old Sega classics.

Overall I think Motor Raid might've been my favourite Game out of Judgment's Club Sega selection.

182. Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown

Genres - Fighting
Systems - Arcade, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4

Another fun Game at Judgment's Club Sega imo.

Although it can cause glitches playing this particular Game on Judgment, so it's safer to probably buy this particular Game if you're really interested in playing it.

183. Space Harrier

Genres - Rail Shooter
Systems - Arcade, Sega Mark III, Master System, Amiga, Armstad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64, Game Boy Advance, Game Gear, Family Computer, PC-6001, PC-6601, PC-8801, PS2, Sega 32X, Saturn, PC Engine, TurboGrafx-16, Virtual Console, X68000, ZX Spectrum

Jesus Christ at how many platforms that this Game has been on.

Again Judgment's Club Sega has the Game, and tbh I am dire at the Game.

I really enjoyed it, but I'm just not very good at it sadly.

184. Fantasy Zone

Genres - Scrolling Shooter
Systems - Arcade, Master System, NES, MSX, PC Engine, Game Gear, X68000, Saturn, Mobile Phone, Switch, Sega Genesis Mini 2

Another one where I played it thanks to Judgment's Club Sega Arcade.

Again I'm absolutely dire at the Game, but I had a blast (pun intended) absolutely brilliant fun to play.

185. Mario Party 2

Genres - Party
Systems - Nintendo 64

186. Bully

Genres - Action-Adventure
Systems - PS2, Wii, Xbox 360, Steam, Android, iOS

Tbh Bully was much better than I ever expected going into the Game given the title of the Game.

I know that in Europe that we call Canis Canem Edit, but that name isn't much better.

But away from the title, the Game is really fun to play, and the objective of the Game is to try to stop the bullying at the School, rather than take part in it.

The Game thankfully isn't cookie cutter (as it is a Rockstar Game) but it's not condoning severe bullying either.

And some of the supporting characters are iconic imo, there's dialogue in this Game that will forever live in my memory.

Other lists type threads that I've made that I can't put in my signature due to breaching the character limit, which is fair enough.
