Default Alberto, Canada "Says No" to doing the Commonwealth Games 2030

They Stated it will cost them too much Cash

Even England can not afford it.

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/spor...nwealth-games/

[The Commonwealth Games continue
to be a tough sell domestically with a potential third
Canadian bid dying by lack of provincial
government enthusiasm.

Alberta has pulled the plug on a possible
2030 Commonwealth Games bid
involving Calgary and Edmonton.

The province cited financial risk and an
estimated price tag of up to $2.68-billion.]

they need to slash the size of the event and make it affordable for countries to take on.

Australia and Canada are the 2 wealthiest countries in the commonwealth excluding the UK, so if they can't afford it, no-one else can

It really doesn't matter what the event costs to stage if they get the money back and then some from tourist visitors and TV rights, but obviously the interest is not there for it

i would guess it's the housing etc for the competitors and all the staff that's the difficult bit.

They need to seriously downscale it or scrap it
