Parmy's Scores
BOTS Good song, but skating wise it started if well in the intro but then the song suddenly drops a level that cant be skated to. It doesn't lift up again until we get the instrumental chorus..disappointing begining. 6 Barry Really average entry for this stage of the tournament. 6 LT A great song for the ice, lots of variety and change of direction in the song. Had jumps and swirls.. just what I'm looking for..10 Alf Energetic performance, but not your best of the series. 7.5 Cherie All voice, no action. I need more rythm. 6.5 Vanessa I cant give this anymore than a 10 can I? If I can make it a 12..if not it's a 10....perfection, absolute song perfection. BOTS 1. I like the song but I'm struggling to see what an ice skating performance would look like to it. However yeah good track. 8.0 Barry 2. This is my fave Texas track. Good choice. 9.0 LT 3. This is such a 80s classic. Everything worked. 10.0 Alf 4. This song reminds me of my fave show the Derry girls. It's a really cheerful song. 9.5 Cherie 5. Not a fan of this song it's always annoyed me. 6.5 Vanessa 6. Nope sorry this is too predictable. Think Scottish. You think of Lewis Capaldi. Not only that. The most obvious Lewis song there is. 6.0 Kate 7. This gave me a headache. Not a fan. 6.0 Hijaxers 8. This was a wonderful choice. 9.5

Slim's Scores
BOTS Gerry Rafferty - 8 Smooth tones, and an engaging bass line makes this an instant hit on the ice. Barry Texas - 6 It was ok, but a bit of a nothingy track LT Eurythmics - 7 Here comes the rain again exists, and should always be the first choice eurythmics song. Alf The Bluebells - 5 The whole back catalogue of Scottish excellence in music, and yet here we are  Really deserves lower than 5.Cherie Deacon Blue - 8 On the ice, I'll do some real gone skids  Vanessa Lewis - 7 Not really my thing, but it gets an extra point because the chorus sounds like that meme song from the 00's Kate Aztec camera - 6 If this is the best Scotland has to offer, then I'll vote for them to have independence. Hijaxers Rod - 7 Not the best Rodney track around, but does a job.

The song I wanted to go for was "Read all about it" by Emilie Sandie.
While she's classed as a Scottish artist. She was born in the North East of England to English and Nigerian parents and only grew up in Scotland. That's why I didn't go for it. Last edited by Alf; 10-08-2023 at 09:51 PM. |

Still Game had the Bluebells singing "Young at heart" in one of their final episodes so I saw it as a Scottish classic. If it makes it on Still Game then it's royalty in Scotland.
