Have you ever played a Video Game and thought that a particular character doesn't get the love that you personally feel that they deserve?

My nomination because I've been seeing my Brother playing this particular Game over the last few days, and I've always liked this particular character (even back in the original Game) but unfortunately gets overshadowed in the eyes of the masses by characters like Cloud, Sephiroth, Tifa and Aerith, and that's Barret from Final Fantasy VII.

I've always liked Barret's passionate personality, and the fact that he can switch between serious and comedy seamlessly.

Tbf though FF7 does have a very strong cast imo, so maybe it's understandable why Barret can get a little bit overlooked sometimes when a discussion around that Game or the remake comes around.

Anyway who is your personal underrated Video Game character/characters?

I refer you to the other thread re: Quistis, FF8. She is not only FF8's best bae way above Rinoa and Selphie, on a more practical level, she also has one of the most useful limit breaks in the game (Degenerator).

Squall/Quisty/Irvine is the only reasonable team choice in FF8. Swapping in Selphie if you absolutely must use "The End".

I *suspect* a lot of people use Squall/Rinoa/Zell and that's just incorrect .

Oh here's another very recent one, I'm not 100% sure this is an unpopular opinion but I suspect it might be...

Spider-Man 2... Miles Morales is better than Peter Parker. Better animations, better suits, more fun to play, and just a more likeable character. Every bit of side content where you could use either Spider-Man, I went with Miles. Even Petes venom abilities, after a while, just weren't as fun to use or watch as Miles' electro stuff.

…I think maybe Luigi doesn’t always get the same equal appreciation that Mario does as if he’s more an also starring character, rather than an equal billing….also Earthworm Jim is quite glorious and who has his under-appreciated days…more than he deserves to have…
