My main plan is to watch some of The X Factor Seasons where I was too young to really form proper opinions of the performances.

I am back in the Singing Show mood thanks to American Idol.

I will also plan on doing some rewatches eventually, but I did do some of them not too long ago, so it's not an urgent matter for me.

I also might cover some other countries versions too, if I can find them in the land of the sea.

Anyway I'm starting with Season 2 of the UK version.

My rankings:

Live Show 1:
1. Maria Lawson - Emotion - She had the nicest sounding voice to my ears.
2. Brenda Edwards - Son Of A Preacher Man
3. Andy Abraham - Greatest Love Of All
4. Chenai Zinyuku - The Closest Thing To Crazy - Probably the most interesting song choice on the night. I dock a couple of points for sometimes she was sounding like she was singing through her nose, but for the most part I liked the performance.
5. Chico Slimani - Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?
6. Journey South - Something About The Way You Look Tonight
7. Nicholas Dorsett - On The Wings Of Love
8. Shayne Ward - Right Here Waiting
9. The Conway Sisters - SOS
10. Phillip Magee - Amazed - Interesting song choice, but ultimately sung badly imo.
11. Addictiv Ladies - Superstar - I honestly didn't think that anyone could sound worse on the night, until 4Tune came along.

1. Maria Lawson - Piece Of My Heart - Is her final placing in this Show satire from the public/the production? Imo she has the best vocal in the competition, absolutely crazy to think what ends up happening with her tbh.
2. Phillip Magee - Johnny B. Goode - A huge improvement, but unfortunately that week 2 performance was toxic which I'm guessing killed his vote going into this performance.
3. Andy Abraham - Unforgettable
4. Chico Slimani - Livin La Vida Loca - Ricky Martin should be jealous of the vocal from Chico on this song.
5. Journey South - Angel Of Harlem
6. Nicholas Dorsett - Let's Stay Together
7. Brenda Edwards - Midnight Train To Georgia
8. Chenai Zinyuku - Hero
9. Shayne Ward - Summer Of 69
10. The Conway Sisters - Total Eclipse Of The Heart

Live Show 4:
1. Maria Lawson - You're Beautiful
2. Journey South - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - Definitely my favourite performance from Journey South so far.
3. Chico Slimani - Kiss - What a vocal.
4. Chenai Zinyuku - Always On My Mind
5. Andy Abraham - Can't Take My Eyes Off You
6. Brenda Edwards - Somebody Else's Guy
7. The Conway Sisters - One Voice
8. Shayne Ward - You Make Me Feel Brand New
9. Nicholas Dorsett - I Want You Back

Live Show 5:
1. Brenda Edwards - Heartbreaker
2. Maria Lawson - Brown Sugar - It was her weakest performance, but I still enjoyed it personally.
3. Journey South - Livin On A Prayer
4. Nicholas Dorsett - I Believe I Can Fly
5. Andy Abraham - I'll Make Love To You - Strange song choice for Andy imo.
6. Shayne Ward - Cry Me A River
7. The Conway Sisters - Hold On
8. Chico Slimani - Hero - Words can't even describe what I thought of this performance.

Live Show 6:
1. Chico Slimani - It's Chico Time
2. Andy Abraham - Me And Mrs. Jones
3. Shayne Ward - A Million Love Songs - Probably his best vocal so far imo.
4. Journey South - Angels
5. Brenda Edwards - Last Dance
6. Nicholas Dorsett - If I Ever Fall In Love
7. The Conway Sisters - One Moment In Time

Live Show 7:
1. Andy Abraham - I Have Nothing - I honestly didn't expect to put this performance anywhere near the top.
2. Brenda Edwards - I Will Always Love You
3. Shayne Ward - I Believe In A Thing Called Love - Not a bad effort imo.
4. The Conway Sisters - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now - Probably their strongest performance tbh.
5. Journey South - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - Besides week 4, I feel like Journey South suffer from sounding too Karaoke, and considering this is a top 6 round, I do feel like their standards should be higher than it currently is.
6. Chico Slimani - Billie Jean

And I can't believe that Simon would say that a contestant "isn't sexy" on national TV.

Imo Brenda might not be as attractive as Maria or Chenai, but she's also not some hideous beast that I think Simon was making her out to look like.

And you can't win with Simon anyway because I remember during Season 6 of American idol, him attacking Haley for dressing "provocatively" to get men to vote for her.

Rant aside, I will be listening to the seventh Live Show in a few minutes, but first I have to listen to some good singing after hearing some of these contestants in Season 2.

Some of them are talented tbf, especially Maria.

Live Show 10 Round 3:
1. Shayne Ward - Over The Rainbow - Why didn't we get more performances like this from Shayne in other weeks, this was actually really good from him.
2. Andy Abraham - Me And Mrs. Jones
3. Journey South - Let It Be

I've heard That's My Goal loads of times in the past, so I'm not listening to it again.

Overall it was a topsy turvy kind of Season for me, I definitely liked some of the contestants, but some of the standard were shockingly bad even by X Factor bad acts standards imo.
