Default What’s your attitude to parties thrown for you like?

Do you celebrate birthdays and other events (graduations, just-plain living in and for the weekend, barbecues) for hosting/personal celebration’s sake or do you just go along with it for other people’s sake/s, if at-all?

The last birthday I celebrated like that was my 12th (22nd, if drinks at Slug and Lettuce count). I’m really not a person who likes to celebrate myself like that openly. All I need is cake and various vibes. I’ve had good parties along the way (really just more or twice as a kid) but even then I was more likely to just share Costco cake in nursery/Sunday school. I only had one or two (almost literally) open celebrations. Not a lot.

I don't really like Parties.
I like meals and a few drinks get togethers but organised Parties I try to avoid.

Although I've had to go along with some as to family and friends.

One thing I draw the line at is weddings, I'd rather be anywhere than a wedding day celebration.

All I've done is thrown them or been part of them for others..

I've never really had a surprise one for myself. I would love it I think, after the initial shock and embarrassments had worn off.

Last one I had was organised by me 8 of my pals through life turned up, one didn'twhich was so heart warming. Unfortunatly, 2 days later I left edinburgh for london and I was the only person on the train the whole way back. The beginning of Covid kicked right off on my 50th birthday weekend.

…I wouldn’t want to be the focus myself at a party, as such…I’m not one for large groups…but I do like smaller/family and close friend gatherings and surprises etc…

I like hosting parties. The idea of a surprise party is grim. I need time to prepare to people.
