Disney do manage to book prominent names for their originals

after earlier having had George Clooney (Project T) as well as John Travolta (although voice acting in Bolt alongside Miley Cyrus with whom he also did the soundtrack of)



and now in this one, Jennifer Aniston and tbh Judith Light is a strong casting either, as well as Rosemarie DeWitt (whom best known had a big role in the Oscar winning La La Land)

i myself liked it as well, proper acting, and lovely new talent Phoebe-Rae Taylor, whom has cerebral palsy herself (although unlike the character Melody, she can talk irl)


some scenes are really exceptional top performed, like

I'm just going to be blunt with what I'm about to say.

But something is seriously wrong with Disney, they have clearly forgotten that they're meant to be an entertainment company, that is meant to be their aim.

And going by the trailer it looks like this year's Strictly Come Dancing, with replacing entertainment for being potentially patronizing.

this is a film adaptation from a novel, and tbh cerebral palsy is quite a serious physical condition, which comes in all sorts of forms, you got people like Phoebe-Rae irl but you also have people like the character Melody who can't speak at all



true that Disney puts entertainment content first, but you can also combine that with some educative content, same how they had native american appreciation in the MCU in ''Echo'' (which got lots of praise from the native american communities)
