Default Almost crushed amongst all them people!

I am talking about British Transport, Trains, Tubes, Buses

But we are just facing a very populated means of transportation, British Transport.

You are living in London."let's say", and it is 5pm and you are ready to go home, so you walk to your local Tube station, "let's say", Oxford Circus and suddenly, there is a Swarm of people of all nationalities, all wanting to get somewhere and even though there is the Victoria, Bakerloo and Central Lines, it is going to be so busy, you won't believe it.

As you eventually get to the platform, it is packed solid with people.

The Tube Train arrives and the people on the train, who wish to get off, have to fight there way through this mass crowd and once they are off the train, everyone tries to get on the train.

Eventually, you get on there and it is packed solid. You find yourself being crushed up against four people, it is a horrible experience and there is no way you can move to anywhere.

As you arrive at the next station, there are passengers who wish to get off and they have to fight their way through the crowd on the Tube Train and if they don't get up out of their seat quick enough, it is a mad panic and a fight for freedom, just to get out of the train.

Once you get onto that platform, you are still fighting to get past people and it is a big crowd of people, all walking towards the big escalator, everything is moving, but it is a packed out situation.

Eventually, you get out the station and you can breathe again

Now, that was London and the Tubes...

But what about British Rail, well that can be the same and the gaps between stations are much longer and I have been in that situation, standing up in a packed Train for half an hour. Not much fun, I can tell you...

Then there is the Buses.. It is pretty much the same, especially in London and then there is the slow moving traffic and the deisel fumes everywhere and being crushed amongst the general public.

____________________________________________
1) Well, is this acceptable to you?

2) What is the real answer? A better Transport system. More Trains, Tubes, Buses perhaps?

3) Are you sick to death of this and hate it so much, that you would rather walk or get a Bicycle?

4) Do you hate/like being so close to complete strangers and being almost crushed like that?

Well up here in good ol' Manchester. It's rare we're in the extremes of needing to stand/wait around for the public transport.

The Tram [Metrolink] Is undergoing a multi million make over, and the bus replacements are coping rather well I must admit.

Local train services are the only ones that seem to get packed.
Or some peak trains from Manchester To London Euston.

The buses run very efficiently and mostly on time.
Most Journies are every 8-10 mins. With extra services put in between 7-9am and 3-7pm.

Manchester has it sorted...but I believe the Congestion charge is needed up here.

In Durham/Newcastle/Sunderland we have the metro and it's always packed but never too much. Buses run well, and trains are good. I think I have it lucky

I hate TFL with a passion. I wouldn't wish it on anyone, not even an enemy lmao. It's a piss take. They're always late, packed or stink. It's pathetic. It's such a BIG business, it needs improving. I cannot wait for a car.

I know that Manchester Piccadilly station at about 5:30pm going towards Preston can be a very busy affair, I know that, as I have been left standing and usually with bags of shopping in my hand.

The Tram [Metrolink] is quite good, but at times, it will be busy, but mostly, it is okay. Once again, I have been on there.

Croydon is even better, (in my opinion)

But I have been left standing, once or twice..

Buses are quite frequent, when I have got on one, I have always got a seat.

and I agree Razmataz, congestion charging will happen, but many will disagree, but I hate driving to Piccadilly, especially after the redesigning, after the Manchester bombing.

The one-way systems are a nightmare and when I try to get to the Arndale Centre Car Park, I really struggle finding it..

I know what you mean MarkChap?!

I used to use it every morning 8am and then set off home at 5:30pm and the Tubes were a nightmare.

But I just got used to it and I remember once, when we were stuck in a tunnel for an Hour and the tube was so packed, I could hardly breathe and neither could anyone else.

It did stink

Naturally.....

Ken Livingstone says that things are improving???

Improving my hole. They need to realise how to it affects people other than thinking they have the best transport links in the UK. They constantly show adverts saying they're improving trains and such, but where's this improvement??

There is just too many people using public transport in London and Ken Livingstone can't do anything except put the cost price up.

But people just pay and that is it, so up goes the price and the volume of people continues the same way.

If traffic comes to grid-lock around Marble Arch, it can bring central London to an almost stand-still.

That is regardless to Public Transport on the Tubes.

But, Buses would suffer like mad....
