Happy Birthday Big Brother..!

Have you noticed how many of the housemates have birthdays during the summer? Well, they're not the only ones.

Wednesday, Day 50, is Big Brother's birthday. And what good is a birthday without a party to celebrate it?

So BB is holding an extra special birthday party... with a twist.

Five housemates will be invited to party hard as guests, while the remaining six will be asked to provide the entertainment.

The entertainers will include a one-man-band, clowns and even a magician, and it's up to the housemates to decide who will be a guest and who will be the talent.

Here's the catch: once Big Brother gets the party started, it only stops when Big Brother says it stops. This is not so much a party as an endurance test.

If housemates can keep it up for the full duration they will win a luxury shopping budget. If they crash and burn it's basic rations only.

Surely self-professed raver and 'hardcore cheesy quaver' Tracey can show the others how to fight for their right to party?

But will they all be able to keep up with her?

Big Brother's Birthday Party Task has begun!

The housemates eagerly gathered in the Living Area to hear their instructions.

"Housemates, this week is Big Brother's Birthday," read Carole. "To celebrate, Big Brother will be throwing a very special party for five very special guests."

That last part seemed to cool the overjoyed response to the party news.

"In the other envelopes are five invitations to this party. Housemates must decide amongst themselves which five housemates will attend this party."

"Oh my god!" cried Gerry.

"Housemates have two minutes to make this decision," announced Carole.

The housemates suggested playing spin the bottle to pick the lucky partygoers but Big Brother swiftly vetoed the idea telling them they must decide between themselves.

"The twins had slop for their party," reasoned Carole, adding, "Nicky didn't have a birthday party."

"What about the people that don't have their birthday?" argued Gerry.

"I had one on my own," said Tracey, referring to her solo rave in the Diary Room.

Debate raged and names were bandied about until finally it seemed they had settled on a list of guests.

In the end they decided Gerry, Ziggy, Nicky, Amanda and Sam would attend Big Brother's Birthday Party.

Despite Nicky's insistence Carole refused to swap places with her as a guest.

This Wednesday is Big Brother's birthday and the invitations have now been gratefully received. In order to pass this week's shopping task and be rewarded with a luxury shopping budget, housemates are to enjoy the biggest birthday party ever. It sounds like fun for the party-loving housemates - but at whose expense?

The special party guests, as decided between the group, are Amanda, Sam, Gerry, Nicky and Ziggy.

The six remaining housemates must provide the entertainment for the party-goers, details of which they will discover later this afternoon. The Entertainment Acts are:
" Magician (Liam) and assistant (Chanelle)
" Clowns (Charley and Tracey)
" Party Artist (Carole)
" Party Musician / One Man Band (Brian)
The party will be one of endurance and will take place tomorrow in Big Brother's Party Room. Big Brother will not reveal the results of the performances until the end of the task.
To pass the task, each Entertainment Act must successfully complete the party performance detailed in their individual instructions and all Partygoers must abide by the rules of the Party. If an Entertainment Act breaks any of their rules then they will incur one fail for the group. If Entertainers incur three or more fails, the group will fail the task and receive a basic shopping budget for next week's shopping list.

PRACTICE TIME
" Each Entertainer will be allocated practice time in the Practice Room located off the Diary Room.
" Entertainers have until tomorrow to rehearse for their Birthday Party performances.
" Entertainers will practice in this room at Big Brother's discretion.
" Entertainers are not permitted to practice in the main House unless instructed to do otherwise Big Brother.
" Entertainers are permitted to read their instruction laminates in the House to themselves but must not perform their acts or discuss any details of their act with their fellow Housemates to avoid spoiling the surprise for Partygoers.

PARTY ENTERTAINERS
" Party Entertainers will be provided with costumes that they must wear for the duration of their Party performance.
" Party Entertainers will also be provided with specific props to aide their performance that they must use.
" Entertainers must perform one at a time when called to the Party by Big Brother.
" Only one Act must perform at the Party at a time unless instructed to do otherwise by Big Brother.
" Entertainers must ensure that they perform on the Stage unless their act requires them to do otherwise.

PARTY GOERS
" There is a dress code for Big Brother's Birthday Party. Partygoers will be given special party outfits that they must wear for the duration of the Party.
" Partygoers must adhere to any additional Party instructions given to them by Big Brother.

ADDITIONAL RULES
" Partygoers cannot be Entertainers and cannot swap places with any of the Entertainers.
" Once Housemates have chosen their roles, they must not swap roles with each other.
" Each Act will be provided with a copy of specific rules and details of their performances that they must execute successfully to pass the task.
