Mainly to do with the fact that they need informed consent from participants which usually means 18+.
Probably insurance reasons as well. |

BB is, and always has been, intended for adults.
I don't think it would be right to allow under-16's do a show with that sort of atmosphere. |

) is of sound mind. We all just think we are. Like Charley we self delude ouselves. ![]() On topic now. BB is an adult format involving swearing, drinking and sexual content. Under 18's do not qualify as adults and such themes are therfore out of bounds to them... |

Sex may be 16+ in legal terms for normal situations, but that kind of behavior on tv from a minor or viewed by a minor could be counted as exploitation. In the same way all nude models and those involved in other sex related occupations must be 18+. Big Brother is a tv show and people mustn't forget that.
But I agree with all comments here. Who would want to see children on Big Brother anyway? It's a show for adults and our laws state that begins at 18. It's fair to say that maturity is diferent with diferent people, so say a 17 year old could be just as mature as an 18 year old. But the fact remains that there is no real way to judge this, so those under 18 will just have to wait until their time comes. To be honest, I'm surprised this question came up. I'd have thought the many reasons were obvious. |

Doesn't that say it all. ![]() There have been a few contestants who have been bordering the comment (or stepping over) the not of sound mind judgement (IMHO). Most are on the show for fame no mater what age they are and maybe they should listen to their parents a little more?
