Anyone else see him this morning?
I thought he was great. He is so enjoying himself this week, lapping up the hero worship with incredulity and amusement. Good to see him relaxed and upbeat, and permanently in 'Hotel California' mode. Still a great loss to the house though ![]() TICKLE QUOTES: Words of wisdom from Mr Jonathan P. Tickle - (on his people skills) "I'm not being big-headed, but I get paid a s**t-load of money to negotiate in situations like this". "I've been amateurish. I should've spotted that. I'm supposed to be a senior manager, that's what I'm paid to do". (On being nominated for eviction) "Controversial....." "Massive Pause....." "Thought so' "I hope this doesn't teach me that there's some aspect of my character that people don't like." (to the vegetables) "No, naughty tomato plants." (On cats) 'If you've got a cat, you've got to look after it. That means I've got to get a catflap for it, which means getting a house. When you've got your own house, you've got to have a cat. So I've got to get enough money to buy my own house, and I've got to earn enough money so that I can always afford to buy cat food at the end of the month. 'Pretty much I wouldn't mind a girlfriend so that if I get p***ed and forget to feed the cat, she can feed the cat.' (about choosing a girl) 'You've only got one prize to pick and you know there are, say, 30 prizes on the conveyor belt. They are coming through one at a time and what makes you press the button to stop the conveyor belt and say, "I want that prize?" 'I think the mathematical way of doing it is to look at the first ten items - the first third. Then, the first thing you see out of the next two-thirds that is better than anything you have seen before, get that. Because if the first ten items are spread evenly on the good or bad scale, then you will get a couple of things in the 90 per cent area. 'It's unlikely you are going to get the 100 per cent best item in your first third of the sample. So you choose the best thing in the next two-thirds which is better than you have seen before. You're going to get something pretty good.' (the revolutionary toaster) "What's the problem with toast from a toaster right now? You put two slices of toast in, they pop up, you whip one out and spread over the magarine. By the time you get to the second one though, the consistency has changed, you never get that second slice quite as good as that first one. So why not have a time delay on the second one? You could have a second dial on the toaster and set it to twenty seconds or something so the second slice would pop up when you were done buttering the first." "I want people to know about my toaster and start building it, for the good of the country. I don't want any money, just build that toaster!" |
