Default Big Brother Live - 4pm: Available for Panto chats to Nasty Nick

"Um, I've....made a mistake."

The immortal words of 'Nasty' Nick Bateman, who all of sudden became the country's most hated man after he was kicked out of the Big Brother house way back in series one. And what a scandal it was.

Seems funny, then, to look back and see how things have changed. Emily Parr, from this series, was booted out -- and it hardly caused a flutter. She was in Nuts the following week. Plotting and cheating are all part of the game these days.

So what does Nasty Nick think of it all? In partnership with our cuddly sponsors, Virgin Games, Available for Panto had the chance to pose a few questions to him this week in preparation for the live webchat he'll be doing tomorrow night.

Read Nick's thoughts (which, judging by his short and snappy answers, he probably answered over breakfast, or while sleeping, or maybe even in a coma... who knows), and find out more about the webchat, after the jump.

Available for Panto: What advice would you give to Emily Parr, who had to exit the show in a similarly "disgraced" fashion this year?

Nasty Nick: Emily was made a scapegoat and she is young enough to get over it.

AFP: How different would your life be, do you think, had you not gone on the show? Would it be better / worse?

NN: You just can't tell. (Shall we rename him Imaginative Nick? -- Ed)

AFP: Do you think BB should allow the housemates more alcohol to create more entertaining viewing?

NN: No, they should not, as it gives out the wrong message to any young impressionable viewers.

AFP: Would you let your kids go on Big Brother?

NN: No.

AFP: Many people say Craig won Big Brother 1 the moment you confronted him at the table - were you aware in that moment that you had possibly strengthened Craig's campaign?

NN: In retrospect it turned Craig into a hero. At the time he was like Laura [from the current series] who did nothing and helped no-one in the house.

AFP: What's the best showbiz blag you've had since Big Brother?

NN: Upgrades to first class on flights

AFP: Do you think the self-awareness of today's housemates has had a negative effect on the quality of the show?

NN: Yes without a doubt, they are always talking about what will make the papers or not. I think it has been poorly cast this year.

AFP: Who's your favourite member of Girls Aloud?

NN: Nadine

AFP: In the first series, it was noticeable that people sometimes nominated tactically to try and remove potential winners. Do you think it makes for better TV if people nominate based on their instinctive reactions to housemates?

NN: It's a game show so you vote off who you don't like.

AFP: Who is your tip to win this year's show?

NN: It's between the twins and Liam.

AFP: How many Bryan Adams songs can you name?

NN: Four: Summer of 69, (Everything I do) I Do It For You, Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman, Run to You.

AFP: If you were to nominate two housemates today, who would they be and why?

NN: Charley: She is a serious wanabee with a major attitude problem. Liam: He is just so dull.

AFP: Your website says you write freelance travel articles - does Big Brother play as large a part in other countries' popular culture as it does in the UK?

NN: Big Brother is even big in Japan!

AFP: In the present house, who would you say most resembles you character-wise?

NN: The now long-gone Jonathan.

AFP: Do you enjoy the 'Nasty Nick' label, given what it's done for your career?

NN: I think it is better to have a nickname than not have one.

AFP: What's been your best charity shop purchase?

NN: I tend to give to charity shops, not take out.

So there we go! An small insight into the mind of Nick Bateman.

If that whet your appetite to find out more about Nick, you can join him live at 8pm tomorrow night over on Virgin Bingo.
