the reporter can't possibly be the leaker as she is not part of the government, she is a reporter. Someone in government leaked the information

I looked it up expecting she shared sensitive classified documents or something. Oh no. She's protected under the Constitution. If the information was provided to her by a source, whether that's leaked or not, she's entitled to use that information as part of her job. If she was sneaking around the Pentagon searching for classified documents to provide to CNN, that would be very different.
