Default 10 to digitise their back catalogue

Network 10 has announced they will be digitising their original back catalogue of Big Brother seasons in the run up to the reboot starting with Season 1 on August 1st at 8pm AEST. The digitised seasons will be streamed online and made available on their YouTube page (each season in their own playlist) and on their VOD platfrom 10 Play.

That's a great idea.

I wish Channel 4 would do it for the UK. But seeing they don't own the rights anymore it's unlikely unless they somehow pick it up down the road. Must take a lot of space to upload 60+ days of shows for each series.

I am so happy that this is happening, it's the kind of thing you dream of happening but never actuality happens. So far it's the best quality I've ever seen early BBAU in, and it's good that Australia adopted widescreen before a lot of the rest of the western world, so the whole image is really nice.

I just really really hope they faithfully preserve even the more controversial moments, such as Gretel's argument with Mikey, etc...

I completely forgot Australia adopted widescreen so early on. In the UK and US the first several seasons were in 4:3. I have reason to believe 10 will keep footage intact. Apparently once the footage is uploaded to playlists it will include Uncut.

Apparently the AU content is geoblocked in the US due to a copyright infringement with CBS. Even the sloppier editing and voiceover is a marked improvement over anything the US version has spit out.

I was wondering about Uncut!

The only re-editing I wouldn't mind is phone numbers and voting text lines being removed/covered, but hopefully nothing else.
