Default Strictly Cocain Scandal: Two Celebrities used during their time on the show

https://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/...nched-35665052

Quote:
Strictly Come Dancing has reportedly launched an investigation into claims that two of its stars took cocaine. The BBC has hired law firm Pinsent Masons to probe the allegations

The BBC has reportedly enlisted the services of a top legal firm to investigate accusations of cocaine use by two Strictly Come Dancing stars, with reports suggesting their substance abuse was an open secret on the show.

Former participants, professional dancers, and crew members are being invited to speak with the solicitors at Pinsent Masons to voice any issues they might have, it's been reported this evening.

The long-running BBC series, which has been plagued with multiple scandals over recent years, is now embroiled in controversy following drug use claims submitted to the BBC in March by Russells Solicitors on behalf of a celebrity contestant.

It's believed that additional individuals have also brought forward allegations of drug consumption on Strictly Come Dancing to the BBC.

In a statement shared with the Mirror this evening, a representative for the BBC said: "We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us. We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. It would not be appropriate for us to comment further."

The Sun reports that one of allegations involves a Strictly star who allegedly commented on another individual's dilated pupils, hinting at drug intoxication, by saying: "Have you seen their pupils . . . they're off their face".

Furthermore, The Sun reports that a celebrity claimed it is common knowledge within the show's circle that two stars were using cocaine, a topic that was reportedly rife among the cast.

A source stated: "These claims are extremely serious and should be taken as such. Given only last year that the BBC’s Director-General promised to clean up Strictly, it seems particularly shocking. The idea of the show’s stars discussing drug-taking is deeply disturbing. The BBC have known about these allegations for some time, and acknowledged receiving them."

It's reported that the state-funded broadcaster is "taking firm action".

good the BBC are conducting a thorough investigation into this, and taking firm action, so whoever used likely won't be getting away with it

so someone from the celebrities or pro dancers or live band or hosts reported about this to the BBC then

and i'm sure their protocols are quite tough yes, but honestly they can still use cocain off camera, in their free time in their home possibly, i mean you cannot enforce those protocols in people's homes, so this is likely on whoever is using to blame for, and i'd imagine a huge fine either for whoever is responsible, since using cocain while competing on a family entertainment show is a no go, and especially as of last year they all signed a contract with rules they have to follow, etc

convenient timing anyway, to divert from Wynne Evans his scandal wonder if it was him to just stir some **** up to make what he did end up forgotten

I'm assuming it's our money being used on the lawyers for this completely unnecessary inquiry.

unnecessary inquiry?

it is a family entertainment show, also watched by young children, this is a matter you need to very seriously, stars looking high of cocain usage is a literal NO GO for this show's standards

whoever used that, really doesn't care about being seen as ''high'' in a show watched by children

whoever are guilty of that, they are scum and honestly could production have prevented this, i don't think so, their job is to sign celebrity contestants for this show, and those celebrities have interviews with the casting director, in person or through their agent, and they know what they sign up for, so these stars breaking the rules is their own problem

and if it's a pro dancer, then its even more low considering, those have even stricter rules they have to follow according to their contract

Arent they expected to grin insanely whilst dancing? Kids wouldn't know the difference. Therefore a complete waste of licence fee money, and 100 percent unnecessary to be spending it on lawyers for some shite like that.

The thing is, it's now after the event. They can't expect people to believe they didn't know about it at the time it was going on.

the thing is, the celebrities sign a contract, and in that contract you have many rules you need to follow

also no one can know what they might be doing in their own homes, considering what happens in their own homes, is a part of their personal lives

pretty sure none of our current pro line up would use cocain, also this is their main source of income being pro dancers at the nation's favourite dancing show, using coke would mean they would lose their one job, while those celebrities have multiple jobs and to them competing on this show was just a one off thing

so whoever is guilty of this, has been lying so hard to the producers in their interviews

This could encourage children to take cocain and ruin their lives from addiction and assorted street drugs

They could all overdose on heroin for all I care, I would neither approve nor disapprove..

But if they started wasting money on lawyers funded by me then I would disapprove.

I could probably stomach Tess Daly a bit more if she was doing lines off Claudia on live tv every Saturday

Oh no, how will society cope with a couple of people taking Cocaine?

It's a good thing that the BBC always stands up for what's right, and has never protected Paedophiles that were working for them.

this is not a laughing matter

and as if ITV hasn't protected controversial people tbh (Philip Schofield aka the face of the popular This Morning and Dancing On Ice) and only let him go after he came in the news

but anyway, you don't use Cocain, when you take part in a family entertainment show, a show watched by children, not a good example you set AT ALL

i can see this going two ways

1) this is confirmed as true, and the names of those responsible are made public, and whichever punishment they get, likely a huge fine and community work sentence

2) this is false, and then i can see more trouble going Wynne Evans's way, for indeed what i earlier posted, for stirring **** up and a huge fine to follow for a false allegation of drug abuse

and if the former, i can see BBC also coming up with more rules/protocols even more camera surveillance in the training room, backstage so they can monitor everyone taking part in this show, and possibly an extra pair of eyes with the production crew as a supervisor
