Best songs on the album for me? Ive listened to the whole thing twice now

Fate of Ophelia, a brilliant opening

Cancelled, is without a doubt my favourite overall song i listened to this one 7 times now!

Life of a showgirl with Sabrina Carpenter is a great closer(although its taylor so we will probably have a whole new 12 songs by this time next week)


But I like Honey, Actually Romantic and Opalite too.

Its a good album!!

I’d have to agree with this review. There’s a couple of okay songs, but nothing of major standout like some of her previous work.

…..I’ve only briefly skimmed a few this morning but not listening to the full tracks…I’ll have a proper listen over the weekend when I have more time now…

Her songwriting has always been utterly infantile but at least she usually had the good sense to have it produced and arranged in a listenable way... not sure where Jack Antonoff sauntered off to, but these songs are so dull. I did briefly like the arrangement of "Cancelled!" before it was pointed out it's a ripoff of Lorde's "Yellow Flicker Beat".

Some of these lyrics are career lows for her. She is so permanently stuck in high school mentally and it's embarrassing. I mean:

I ended up giving the album a 3/10 but I think that's because the averages were kind after I gave the opener a 7/10 there were some 2s and even a 0 on here.

Sadly, a lot of chart Music at the moment is playing to the lowest common denominator.

Don't get me wrong, I do try to like these types of songs (Taylor Swift ironically is someone I can tolerate more than some in this area of Music) but people like Sabrina Carpenter and Madison Beer are creating songs of torture imo.
