Yeah, I know people who had to be transported to hospital by helicopter and they didn’t have a conscious choice. It just had to be done.

A friend of mine took one over the Grand Canyon once and said it was just incredible.

I've taken about 200 helicopter flights. It's an interesting experience. It's a lot more basic than a plane, and a lot noisier. I've also flown in bad weather conditions, and that's not fun as you don't fly high enough to get above the weather. Generally speaking, it's fine flying in them but i've also had a few hairy moments that i wouldn't like to repeat

No to the hot air balloon. I've seen them come down unexpectedly, you can't steer them, you're at the mercy of the wind and weather... Not for me.

Imagine someone suddenly breaking out into manic delirium on a hot-air balloon (and the onset of mania really can be that sudden in some cases, albeit rarely). Restraining them to the balloon-basket would be nigh-on impossible. Instant leap to death. Panic-attacks can be wavered with time and grounding reassurance (albeit more difficult when you’re up in the air). Being drunk or manic? Potentially very, very hard to contain to the seat. People have leaped to their death in the frenzy of mania on lesser altitude (hospital-windows).

if people having manic episodes was anything other than miniscule, it would be a regular occurrence for people to walk in front of a car or a train, take a header off a bridge. In london, where millions of people commute each day, how many manic episodes lead to a fatality? The danger to life is everywhere
