Honestly, it all feels inevitable and almost laughable at this point.
Anyone here listen to The Rest Is Politics with Anthony Scaramucci and Katty Kay? The Mooch only worked for Trump briefly during his first term, but he’s got some insight into how Trump operates. He says Trump has this pattern: he puts you in a position where you have to lie for him. When you do it, he’s pleased — until the backlash hits. Then suddenly you’re the problem, and you’re out. Scaramucci says Trump did exactly that to him, and he definitely did it to Nikki Haley during the first term. It’s a cycle: he pushes people into defending the indefensible, then discards them when it blows back on him. And there are going to be more. Can anyone really see Hegseth lasting? He’s too polished, too camera‑ready, and Trump tends to turn on people like that. Then again, he’s not exactly known for independent thinking, so maybe that buys him time. Kash Patel looks like he’s on borrowed time too. A few others probably as well. Because once you’re in Trump’s orbit, you end up in that same trap: he puts you in a position you can’t escape from, and eventually the fallout lands on you instead of him.
