I stopped using ArseBook years ago..

I basically use X for Sport based stuff and YouTube for music and holiday reviews/ diy advice


One of my friends only uses Facebook which is annoying as he sends me loads of Facebook links .. some work , others don’t but the vast majority are fake / staged scenarios and people fall for them hook , line and sinker then add heartfelt comments - even though a bit of detective work shows the same people have done dozens , sometimes hundreds of similar video scenarios - all playing different roles obviously

Then there are thousands of AI rendered clips all obviously fake yet hundreds fall for them and comment accordingly

Yeah the amount of fake videos and news stories on there now is ridiculous. It's got to a point that the actual majority is fake. I don't really post on there anymore but I still keep it because there's a few groups I'm part of that I'd like to stay in. Plus it's my only point of contact for a few people

The only reason I still have FB is because of all the friends I made when travelling and all my old photos. I rarely post on there or check on what’s going as it’s moved on from what it used to be and is now just another social media venting tool for grim opinions, fake news and so many adverts.

I hate the format and layout of FB but i use it for messenger and for various local groups like Road Conditions and a few good "Old (insert local town) groups that post old pics and adverts and the like plus some good historical similar ones

Yeah I can understand it being useful to keep up with friends/family ..though I don’t understand those who share every aspect of their lives .. shopping , brewing up or worse ( far worse)

I have never understood Facebook. All social media is a mystery to me and I have zero interest in it.

Same I only use it for info on where the roadworks are locally or who is letting off fireworks

There’ll always be people willing to con others just to make a bit of money, even if it means exploiting something this serious.

It's useful for my work, sadly. Most animal rescue is also done through FB in my area.

Tbh I only use Facebook to talk to people that I don't live nearby anymore.

To be brutally honest, I don't really like the actual site very much for numerous reasons.

Ditto. It’s really gone downhill since 2013/14. It’s just that Messenger is a useful app. That’s it.

You can delete fb and still use messenger.

Yeah, a lot of businesses seem to use their FB page as their actual website as well

I still check my feed every-so often, and sometimes even post the odd story, to be fair.

I was never a big fan of Facebook, but I hardly go on it now. I don't hate it, but it's boring. Twitter is boring too.

And I hardly ever post comments on YouTube videos because they're either deleted or ignored.

I hear a lot fo people aren't posting many messages anywhere these days.
