That's a hard one. Charley knows she's burnt her bridges already. The twins don't seem overly bothered, nor does Brian or Tracey. Liam slows everything down, and goes to great lengths to ensure there's no confusion over what he's saying. Chanelle is very concerned with how she'll be portrayed and judged, and Carole has similar issues, but far less extreme. Gerry is perhaps even more worried than Chanelle, but only lets it out when he's in certain company, or on his own. But Piggy devotes most of his time to it. Whenever someone has a major argument, he has a minor argument with that hm the following day, as if to prove that he has issues with the nasty hm, too. He gets on with Charley most of the time, yet after Chanelle, most of his diary room reports are about her. It's like his little wink to the audience, to let everyone know where he stands. He quite blatantly wants a media career of some form, and he's going out of his way to try and be all things to everyone. It's rather sad, really.

It would have to be Zach. He seems to be motivated by his presumptions of what the audience will like, expect and object to. So often, he contradicts things he's said or done because he's learned new information about people and how they are being or may be percieved, that it's becoming clear where his values lie. Popularity. It is a popularity contest, though.
In my opinion, Zach does an impressive job of 'riding the wave'. Obviously, there are people who can see his games for what they are, but on the whole, I think people either appreciate his ability to pander, don't care either way, or are completely unaware. I think he stands a chance of winning. |
