Default Cat help

Ok... I have a little problem with an unwanted cat in my garden. I have two female neutered cats who are kinda house cats but like to roam a little in the garden and we have just installed a cat flap for them.

We've now had to close this up at night time, because a tomcat..... "One Ear" Red calls him..... keeps coming in..... he actually made it all the way upstairs and got stuck under our bed which really upset the two females.

We have also noticed that One Ear has been spraying the area around our house.

Has anyone had anything similar happen or have any advice on this??

Ooh-er.

Sounds like a weird problem you have there...

I remember catching a neighbours cat napping in our garden once but that's about it for me...

I wouldnt mind that napping in the garden.... its just that he keeps trying to get in... which freaks our cats out, and then bacause he hasnt been "done" I dont want him spraying in the house.....yuk!

I can imagine how you are feeling.

We had a cat that fits the description of the male cat you are talking about... we got rid of it 3 years ago.

We got a few complaints from our neighbours...

my mum suggested a waterpistol.... but that means getting out of bed in the middle of the night

One time we were sure we had chased him away and shut the cat flap.... only tofind our two on the bed making angry noises and then finding 3 cats fighting under the bed....... it was very odd

Water pistol is a good deterrent for cats. Set Red up with the waterpistol aiming it at the cat flap and make him stand guard until one ear tries to infiltrate. LOL.

Have you had a look at infer red flaps?
http://www.petdoorsonline.co.uk/acat..._Flaps_13.html

Your cat has a key so it will unlock it only.

Kiz try sprinkling some strong pepper around the garden where he likes to hang out, also you could try throwing Red at him to see if that deters him!!

Seriously though some Red peppers or chilli seeds and pepper mix usually does the trick

We used to have a cat who used to be around my home, we had a dog then, and the cat was clawing my dog and attacking it in my own home so we got a water pistol and that did the trick, it hasn't been back since, well it has been in the road but no where near my house.
So water pistol would be a good idea.
(Felt sorry for the cat though, poor thing was drenched

Fine. Can you pluck it first. It could be rather tasty.

Yeah, at our old house we used to have a cat who used to sleep in our house all day. We didn't do anything about it.
When we went on holiday once, obviously we locked up the house and everything, and when we came back we never saw it again.

Someone once told me if you sprinkle dried sea urchin round that cats like to chew on it, it then makes their stomachs explode, end of cat problem!!!
